Since we've got a new Fan Art subforum I figured why not create a thread of my own as I've recently done so on a few other forums. I also want to again thank everyone who encouraged me to do so. This Joker piece was actually the first thing I drew with my Wacom pen back when I first bought it in 2008. I won't post that original version because I think it's crap but it is over in my deviantART gallery for those interested. Years later I would come back to it taking the constructive criticism I'd received and redraw it, cleaning up the line work and muting the colors a bit. I'm pretty happy with the end result and I think it's one of the creepiest things I've ever drawn. Hope you enjoy it. fav.me/d7w6lauand here's the cleaned up line work before I recolored it. fav.me/d7421l9and here's a work in progress screenshot.

This William Hartnell portrait was one of the first traditional pieces I had done in a long while and was drawn looking at a still frame of the actor. Initially I was worried it didn't look enough like him but it has since grown on me. fav.me/d757zl8

My most recent traditional piece is this portrait of the lovely Betty Grable drawn from a photo reference. fav.me/d8yewjpand here's a work in progress photo. I ended up redrawing it twice as large on a better piece of paper.

Originally I had drawn this Betty Boop dressed as Wonder Woman with a Pigma Micron pen and Prismacolor markers on marker paper. When I scanned it I didn't like how the pen had bled a little bit so I digitally inked it in Photoshop and used the clone tool to even out the markers. I generally don't draw cute but am really happy with how she turned out. fav.me/d7rlfps

Another older piece Gillian Anderson and the Creature from the Black Lagoon were drawn with colored pencil and ebony pencil respectively. The reference used was a photo shoot from Rolling Stones Magazine. In hindsight I wish I had been able to include more of the Creature. fav.me/dnydcb

I originally sketched this Spider-Doppelganger with a ball point pen on paper, scanned it and then digitally inked and colored it in Photoshop. The pose is loosely inspired on The Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci. fav.me/d8wgdyvHere's the line art before I colored it in Photoshop. fav.me/d8njtf2and because I wanted to see what the character would look like wearing the Venom symbiote fav.me/d8ya3enHere's a process gif animated in Adobe ImageReady fav.me/d8x3sd2

Im jealous.
I'm super critical of my own work, sounds like you are too, and I don't find a lot of "fan" work appealing, but that is just bloody cool. Well done.
