Too much, too soon
Certainly, stylewise, one of the most flamboyant keyboardists from the Classic Rock era and will certainly be remembered

Sad news. Brain Salad Surgery was my intro to ELP and to the much-maligned genre of "progressive rock" in general.

Keith Emerson, mostly known for his Emerson, Lake and Palmer group and later solo work helped form an important early prog rock band early in his career
The English group, The Nazz, got a lot of radio play in the early FM days with this hit

If you had never seen Keith Emerson play live, it was quite the experience...here's a taste from early in ELP's career...
Keith's solo takes over around the 4 minuter mark...
and this isn't the wildest performance of his I've seen on video, later, at their peak, there was a show he played this tune (Knife's Edge) using actual circus throwing knives thrown into his keyboard and moved back and forth to produce sound effects while he was playing through his solos. Extreme? Sure. Self-indulgent? Probably. But hella fun to watch if you are into rock and roll as a performance art spectacle.
Of course during the heydey of their popularity, they would tour and each of three of them would have a full semi-trailer truck to carry the gear/instruments/effects they would use in each show and it would take days to set up and tear down shows.

Sylvia Anderson, writer/producer/co-creator of supermarionation as part of the Gerry & Sylvia Anderson partnership and hence Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet etc, as well as being the voice of Lady Penelope. Huuuuge part of my childhood, both through the TV series and my earliest introduction to comics through TV21. To quote Aloysius Parker: "Good night, M'lady"

Frank Sinatra Jr. Dead at 72. I had no idea that he sung. He didn't sound half bad.
