For me, it was The Silencers, as well as the Wonder Woman pilot.
I wonder if the bit with the chandelier was meant to go that way or was it a stunt that misfired and they left it in for comic effect. Nah, it's rigged; it holds for Wonder Woman than evenly drops down (and slowly) when it's Stella, then hangs at the perfect height to go through the glass on the doors. I wonder who was being doubled by Jeannie Epper. She doubled Lynda Carter for the series and in a lot of the stunts; but not all, and not initially. She physically was a close match to Stella Stevens. She also doubled Linda Evans on both The Big Valley and Dynasty and used the blocking for the above fight to lay out the first catfight, between Evans and Joan Collins.

RIP to retired Navy vet Jack Holder, who passed at age 101. He had been one of the last living survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

R.I.P. Ricou Browning, who played the Gill Man in the underwater scenes of Creature From the Black Lagoon. Browning was a long-time stunt-man specializing in underwater work on such films as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He also wrote the story that would become Flipper.

Not widely known, outside of San Diego; but, the Creature from the Black Lagoon is the unofficial mascot of the US Navy SEALs. They have a statue at the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL School and every 4th of July (at least, back in the 80s) they put on a demonstration at the Coronado Yacht Club marina, where one of the team members comes out of the water, in the costume and tosses candy, to the kids in the crowd. Browning's work was deeply respected by the team members.

Linda Kasabian, the Manson Family member whose testimony in exchange for immunity was key to the convictions of Manson and other Family members for the Tate-LaBianca murders, died January 21 at the age of 73. Kasabian, who changed her name to avoid unwanted attention, had apparently been living with her daughter right here in Tacoma for years prior to her death.

Mind blown! Kind of off-topic for this thread, but your post reminded me that the author of a book I recently read ( and reviewed here), Claire Vaye Watkins, is the daughter of Paul Watkins, another - pretty high-ranking - member of the Family who ended up testifying against Manson.

RIP to jazz legend, saxophonist, Wayne Shorter, who passed at age 89.

Edit to add:
This is what Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid had to say on the passing of Shorter:
I am familiar with Shorter's work, but not the man so much. Had no idea he was a sci-fi enthusiast.

Losing Wayne Shorter is gut-wrenching. A brilliant saxophonist and a truly amazing composer. From The Jazz Messengers to Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet to Weather Report to his brilliant work as a band leader, Shorter was always on the cutting edge of jazz for sixty years. I've spent so many hours listening to his music. I've spent so many hours listening to In a Silent Way, Miles Smiles, Speak No Evil and so many other albums.

Gut-wrenching indeed I saw your other post first in the "What are you listening to now" thread, and when you said "late great", I thought no, that can't be. Literally days ago I was listening to Herbie Hancock's Man-Child album, and then was looking up all the musicians who played on it as a reminder. I saw Wayne's name and actually asked myself, is he still with us, knowing he was getting on in years, and was so happy to see that he was. I first came to know Wayne so many years ago by way of Weather Report, and then of course became acquainted with so much of his other work over the years. What an incredible career, I don't even know where to begin. This is a huge loss...RIP Mr. Shorter and thank you.

I'm a big fan of Wayne Shorter from his Jazz Messengers days right through to his albums with Miles and his Blue Note records. I never really got into Weather Report, but now is the time to give them another crack. I'm also giving some of his archival stuff a listen as we speak. Herbie Hancock left a heartfelt message on Twitter.

RIP to actor Tom Sizemore, of Heat and Saving Private Ryan, at 61. He suffered a brain aneurism and succumbed to it.
Substance abuse wrecked his career, after working with the likes of DeNiro, with a string of arrests for being under the influence, domestic violence and allegations of inappropriate behavior to an 11 year-old girl, on set. He was listed for the first episode of the upcoming Cobra Kai season, which is what confused me, in the NPR obituary, when it mentioned the series. I scratched my head to recall him in an episode and looked it up on IMDB. The series was just announced as a go and that it is the last; but, it sounds like they haven't started production. I suspect that he was cast for the episode, but hadn't filmed anything, unless the information about production is wrong and they had already done some filming.

It was a shame he flushed his career down the crapper. I found his portrayal of Sgt. Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan to be the most effective in a film full of great performances and was surprised when it didn't get a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars.

Gary Rossington, last surviving founder of Lynyrd Skynyrd, died yesterday at 71. Y'know I'm beginning to understand why my parents would get so bummed out when somebody like Benny Goodman or Count Base would pass. Cei-U! I lower my flag to half-staff!
Edited to correct my brain-dead spelling of the band's name. Thanks, Edo!
