R.I.P. Alphonse Mouzon, legendary jazz drummer who passed away at the age of 68 yesterday. was a phenomenal jazz-fusion drummer. He played on many favorite albums of mine including those by Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, Larry Coryell, Al Di Meola and more. |

2016 has been a bad year, but the news of Carrie Fisher passing away brought tears to my eyes. RIP Princess Leia.

Terribly sad to hear about Carrie Fisher. Like many among my generation, I'm sure, Fisher's portrayal of Princess Leia was one of the icons of my childhood and beyond. I always liked her self-depreciating sense of humour too. RIP princess.

Carrie Fisher was two months older than I am.
My wife thinks her heart attack was brought on by the combination of "sticky" blood and sitting still for too long on that London-to-LA flight.
RIP Carrie.

By a strange coincidence, I reserved Carrie Fisher's latest book, The Princess Diaries in audiobook format, a few days before her heart attack. At the time I did so, I was #3 on the reserve list. I looked at the status today and saw I'm next up with the first returned item. But now there are 40 people behind me, waiting for a copy
