Has anybody famous died yet today? So this **** can get miserable again. If you're looking for something a little more lighthearted, might I suggest you're looking in the wrong thread?

RIP Tyrus Wong, the production designer of Disney's Bambi. He lived to the ripe old age of 106 NY Times obit . -M It still amazes me that Bambi was not a hit at the time of its release. What a beautiful and affecting piece of art. The animated rainwater cascading along the leaves, the all-consuming fire, all hand-drawn and occurring on multiple planes within the film. Breath-taking.

Another Hollywood death squeezed its way into 2016: William Christopher, Father Mulcahy on M*A*S*H. Exactly one year after co-star Wayne Rogers' passing. Also, I believe the time zone difference makes it 2017, but a tragedy in a nightclub in Turkey has left at least 35 dead. He was great as Father Mulcahy and I had fond memories watching him in Hogan's Heroes, Gomer Pyle USMC, and of course After Mash too.

William Christopher also had small, but memorable roles in The Fortune Cookie (with Jack Lemon and Walter Mathau) and With Six You Get Eggroll (Doris Day and Brian Keith). Back in the 90s, he and Jamie Farr toured in a production of The Odd Couple. It played at the local college, though I didn't see it. I do recall thinking they were perfect for the roles. Wish I had gone, now.

Let's all hope that 2017 would be a better year than 2016!

I believe tingramretro posted about it in this thread at the time. I wish I had the time to watch all the Blakes 7 episodes. It's worth making time. It's an underrrated classic.

I hate seeing an update on this thread.
It might as well be retitled "Now Who?"

They say the first step is admitting you have a problem. Just kidding. Seriously, though, you're the boss, if it doesn't sit well with you, you have alllll the power to fix it. Deleting stuff is not a problem here. Oh, nothing here's been over the line. I just thought it might not be in the best taste. Man, I never visit this thread because of the subject. Then it goes off on one of the funniest tangents ever and I'm late and left empty handed. :-(

Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjan, a voice of moderation in Iran's shrill politics, has died at the age of 82 of a heart attack.
