Powers Boothe to me, of what I know of him it his role in Justice League as Gorilla Grodd, Tombstone, Stalingrad, Red Dawn, and Men of Honor as Captain Pullman. Great Actor and Voice too ... Loved his Grodd in Justice League.

Boothe was a tremendous actor, with a connection to the comic world, as the voice of Gorilla Grodd, on the Justice League cartoon. He had great turns in movies like Southern Comfort, Red Dawn, Rapid Fire and Tombstone. ...don't forget Agents of SHIELD!I try to, as much as I can. I really wanted to like that series; but, it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm sure Boothe was good in his episodes; he never did a bad job. Still remember watching him and Keith Carradine in Southern Comfort, when it hit the cable movie channels, back in the 80s. The premise was a bit out there; but, they carried themselves well in the film.

Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden, dead at 52.
I think just about every lead singer from the early 90's Seattle grunge movement is gone now.
Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell...
Eddie Vedder better be on the lookout

Very sad to hear about Chris Cornell. What a voice he had--powerful. I had a cassette tape of Superunknown and played it until it broke.

There are reports all over Facebook and Twitter that Rich Buckler has passed away.
Can't find an actual news source, but someone claiming to be his ex-wife confirmed on Facebook.

Bleeding Cool News is reporting it, citing family friends and Roy Thomas: Here is the link www.bleedingcool.com/2017/05/20/deathlock-star-squadron-co-creator-marvel-dc-comics-artist-rich-buckler-passed/I always liked Buckler's work, even when he didn't "borrow" from someone more notable. His reputation for swiping undermines a pretty decent storyteller, even if he didn't always have the confidence or the technical skill to layout his pages without swipe files. However, there are a lot of people in glass houses when it comes to comics and swiping. Wally Wood was one of the few of his peers to openly admit it: Deathlok stands on its own merits and I thought he did excellent work at DC and his covers were often superior to the artist inside the comic. I was sorry to see him leave All-Star Squadron, until Jerry Ordway became the regular penciller (though he had been inking Buckler and Adrian Gonzales). I hated seeing him do that drek at Solson, though he did my favorite cover of Archie's Might Crusaders, when they relaunched it (while he was editing it)

Wasn't super-comfortable with one of my favorite GA heroes The Hangman being remade as a villain (along with other former MLJ heroes), but it's better than being forgotten, I suppose. Anyway, that wasn't Rich Buckler's doing, and he rendered those late champions beautifully, with just the right touch of menace.

They did the same thing with the camp revival, making some of the heroes villains. I seem to recall that these are robots, though.

Sir Roger Moore has died aged 89 after a short battle with cancer. Rest in peace, 007.

Roger Moore brought humor in the world of 007; in Spy Who Loved Me ... his punch line "Egyptian Builders" cracks me up.

I still prefered Moore as Simon Templar, to James Bond; the role suited him better. My favorite non-Bond or Saint role was ffolkes (aka North Sea Hijack, aka Assault Force), where he is Rufus Excalibur ffolkes, a mercenary security expert, who has to stop a terrorist takeover of North Sea oil platforms (carried out by Tony Perkins). The recently passed Michael Parks also appeared in that one. Of course, there is also The Wild Geese, though Moore was the least convincing mercenary in that bunch. He had some great lines, though.

I think my favourite Roger Moore role outside of Bond was in The Cannonball Run, where he played "the guy who looks like Roger Moore".
