But one of these days I'm finally gonna pull the trigger on a Konga # 1 and a Gorgo # 1. Those are probably gonna be in the 50 range, unless I get way-super-lucky. And I'd like to upgrade my Brave and the Bold # 54 from a .5 to something in the 1.0-1.5 range someday. Plans for an intervention are underway.

In my defense, I've been saying that for years and it's never happened.

I'm really not sure, it all depends on how much money I have free at the time. I've spent $80 once on Silver Surfer #4. That is the most by far.

I had a really hard time acquiring that issue, myself, largely because I was unwilling to pay the going price. "Low print run" back then meant around 80,000 copies, and the book isn't hard to find, so attributing the price to scarcity seems absurd to me. It really is a great cover, though, and you got it for a pretty good price. Great to have you here, by the way!

I feel the same way with books like that. There's probably at least 20 of them on ebay right now.

I think the most I'll be spending on a book in the sometime near future will be an early, single-digit issue of Superman. Odds are I'll never own a complete run but will settle for just one of the first 10 issues (most likely 8, 9 or 10). I have Superman From The 30s to the 70s to read the rest A "good" copy grading around 2.5 for #10 goes for about $750 on Ebay...I'll settle for a VG+ if I spot one. (I saw a CGC graded 8.0 of #8 for $3,250.00)... Maybe when I go into the bigger-leagues...I'm still a small fish...

The only comic I'm likely to spend money on that I still want is Angry Youth Comix #1. The last copy I know of sold on eBay for a buy it now price of $25, but it could easily sell for hundreds. Other than that I'd like the self published Elflord comics but doubt I'd shell out more than about $35 for one. I own one, forgot what I paid for it, probably $15-$20. And I'd like to finish my Raw Magazine collection, but not at the rate people list them on eBay. Should be noted they don't actually sell at those listed prices, and when you can find a copy at auction you can usually get it for around $60.
