Would the Spirit count as a Quality character since they published reprint collections? -M Why not? I would have bought that comic every month if I was around back then.I'd also try to grab that Spirit Sunday Supplement if it was in my local newspaper.(Actually ,in NYC I think it was in the Herald or the Tribune)

Besides the Marvel / DC / Quality / Fawcett we all know, I thought I'd dig a little deeper.
Here's some I'd like to read more of :

I've left out some titles I would've otherwise picked up but you specifically asked for characters, so that's what I'm digging up.
The older I get, the more I love the Golden Age stuff.

I enjoyed the Project SuperPowers characters a while back...
There are also Nelvana and Johnny Canuck when I feel patriotic.

The Golden Age version of Superman is easily my favorite version of Superman. It's the version where everything worked.
A character whose adventures I haven't read but has always appealed to me is the original Green Lantern. I really need to get around to reading some Alan Scott.
In general the Golden Age is much more interesting to me from a character perspective, although I find the artwork and writing really don't hold up as well.

The original version, by Fletcher Hanks, w/that weird blue skull thing going on and basically whatever power the story required. After Hanks left, she became a more generic jungle heroine, and then the queen of a lost Egyptian city, and the stories became more familiar. But that early stuff - wow.

Quality... Unknown, Marksman, Sally O'Neil Fawcett... Ibis, Spy-Smasher, Radar Timely... Sub-Mariner (second Everett run), 50's revival of Subby and Human Torch National... Starman (early Burnley stuff), S&K Sandman, Boy Commandos, Johnny Quick, Robotman AA... JSA, post-War Flash and Green Lantern, Dr. Fate (weird stuff), Tex Thompson/Mister America/Americommando, Scribbly (with or without RT!) Would Tomahawk be considered Golden Age? If so, include him, too!

The Cryptkeeper
As a child of the 90s I can't look at the original Cryptkeeper and not think "Thats just wrong."
