I did a search to see if we had this, so unless I missed it, this shouldn't be redundant. A thread to help identify any type of entertainment. This particular entry is about a movie, but I didn't want to derail the discussion of movies watched in the new and classic movies, or comics in what have you read, or games in the video game thread. Shaxper can feel free to merge if he feels differently. I'll try to remember as much as I can about this movie. I tired some googling on aspects about it and trying to remember country of origin, genre or time frame and came up with nothing. I will spoiler tag stuff that may give away the movie for those that might want to watch it based on non-spoiler descriptions.... It starts with a man crossing paths with a woman that seems to be being pursued. I remember it was foggy. There were cobblestone roads and actual gas light street lights. There were four people, I believe, all in normal clothing but with an animal head/mask on them. I remember a deer/reindeer/antelope head, a bird of some kind, and maybe a giraffe(?). The man does manage to help her escape her pursuers. I think I remember a conflict between one of the animal people and either the woman or man. Throught the middle of the movie, you find out the man in the opening's father is responsible for the woman captured and that he intends to use her for arcane purposes. Of course throughout the story the man falls in love with the woman, and forbids his father from doing what he planned. Then the woman escapes both of them. End of movie twist She escapes into the wilderness to a, what looks like an abandoned stage house, and goes behind the stage curtain. By the time the man figures out where she is and follows her to the stage house there is one person (I think another woman) there sitting at a desk in front the stage. They talk about the woman he is trying to find, and when he goes behind the stage curtain he finds himself in another dimension.
The short of it is that the human legends of vampires is about these beings from another dimension that have visited ours in the past and that's how the legends started. Edit: I seem to want to remember it being a British/UK movie. And am almost certain it was in the 70's that it was made. Maybe older. But it was color.

I'm getting possible vibes of it being an episode of the British TV show The Avengers

I'm getting possible vibes of it being an episode of the British TV show The AvengersThe only Avengers I own are the Peel/Steed episodes and I'm fairly familiar with them but it could be that. I think Linda Thorton (?) and Honor Blackman both proceeded Diana Rigg, but I have not seen any of those. Nor The New Avengers. But I'm certain it was color and almost certain it was a feature length movie.

Linda Thorson came after Diana Rigg, not before.

Sounds like a Jean Rolin flick, my french compatriote! "La Vampire Nue", in my opinion his best mess (he is quite messy...).

Unforunately it is not on Netflix instant anymore so I am awaiting the arrival of the DVD next week. I really remember liking this movie when I first watched it. I went through a lot of these types of films like Fascination, Vampyre and Taste the Blood of Dracula at one time but could not remember or have enough clues to google it. Well, there was technically a full length color Avengers movie... That sir is an abomination to the Avengers tv series and should never have seen the light of day. I have not seen it, for the same that I haven't watched any of the other pairings with Steed. Emma Peel was my first crush, and Patrick MacNee was probably my first male idol. :-)

Ah! Glad I was of help. I don't participate much in the film threads, but I used to go like 3-4 times a day to the movies when I was still living in Paris, and still watching way too much since I'm in the woods, but now it's more about downloads...

I'm just gonna ask here, because I'm not sure where else to ask. So, there's superhero I think looks really really cool. And, maybe it's just my bad research, but I can't find much on her. She's called White Fox and she's apparently joining Marvel's Avengers soon? Maybe a foreign branch? I don't know. I know she's a Korean hero and maybe has something to do with Electric Rain, which may or may not be a webcomic?? Anybody have an clues for me?

Opps I didn't even think that name of the movie was The Gorgon. Since Medusa is a gorgon. I probably could have found that with a google search. Thanks though shax.
