Yep! And would you believe if someone wants to by a copy today, in reasonably high-grade, they have to spend about 5,000 times as much ($625). And when they do, they might get screwed cuz someone cut out the stamp Mine has the stamp.

(Actually, it doesn't because the Marvel Value Stamps didn't start until the next month.) It's one I still don't own yet but knowing I don't have to worry about the stamp is a bit of a relief. Although I've seen one slabbed copy described as 'stamp still intact'

Although I've seen one slabbed copy described as 'stamp still intact' My copy is in storage so I can't get to it to double-check. But there's a Web site devoted to the Marvel Value Stamps that has a guide to which stamps appear in what issues. And it says that the first issue of Spider-Man with a stamp was #130.

Oh no, the old bait and switch. A Perez cover for a Jimmy Janes interior. I don't know. I have only read one issue. The art wasn't bad. However, aren't the legion supposed to be youngsters? If so, they sure did NOT look like youngsters. They looked like full grown adult. Some even looked middle aged.

It was rejected so I moved on, but one of these days I'll snag that first Punisher appearance. I think his original look is a great design. Aside from the awesome skull motif, he has perhaps the best widow's peak in all of comics.

I'm sorry to interrupt a conversation between two old curmudgeons...but I seriously need another PunisherMAX fix, and fast. I love the anti-hero, no nonsense shit, plus it has F-words and he shoots scum. Have you tried Scalped Jez ??/
Not anti-hero like Punisher but it is hard as nails.

That was around the time where DC started to let them age a bit, as we move forwards newer recruits are teenaged with the established members in their 20s or so.
Good point to start reading cos Levitz and Giffen show soon with the Great Darkness Saga, through the other issues I mentioned.

Oh! That makes sense! See, what is going to be hard for me to learn about these characters is, they keep going by their superhero name, but then they also go by their real names. If they could just go by their superhero names, that would be great. I could learn them easier that way. Right now, I feel like a teacher on the first day of school trying to do a roll call.
