That was around the time where DC started to let them age a bit, as we move forwards newer recruits are teenaged with the established members in their 20s or so.
Good point to start reading cos Levitz and Giffen show soon with the Great Darkness Saga, through the other issues I mentioned.
Oh! That makes sense! See, what is going to be hard for me to learn about these characters is, they keep going by their superhero name, but then they also go by their real names. If they could just go by their superhero names, that would be great. I could learn them easier that way. Right now, I feel like a teacher on the first day of school trying to do a roll call. You'll get used to it. In a few months, you'll know everybody's super-hero name and his or her real name like your own. Without even trying. What gets confusing is in the reboots where they change the super-hero names. Lightning Lad becomes Live Wire. Triplicate Girl becomes Triad. Shadow Lass becomes Umbra.

One of us, one of us, one of us.... I have BEEN one of us. Also: now I know where Wildfire gets his name! Well, at least I think I do. Unless there are other Wildfire characters other than the one from Legion of Superheroes? If there are, they aren't nearly as cool so they don't count. Besides, who else has a song dedicated to them? "She ran calling Wildfiiiire!"
Wait, that wasn't about him? Never mind....

One of us, one of us, one of us.... I have BEEN one of us. Don't mind the others. They simply have yet to be enlightened by the Legion's greatness.

That moment when Phantom Girl and Kitty Pryde make you truly realize that Marvel's and Dc's entire existence has been to outdo one another with creative properties. 0.o

Joking aside, I rather enjoyed those early Legionnaire issues. They were a fun contrast to how far off the rails the main LoSH had gone.

I'm sure Reep would have wrang Proty's neck more if he knew he was eventually going to be marrying Imra in Garth's body!

Did they ever do a story repudiating that or did everyone just wisely act like that never happened?

It was hinted that Imra realized at the end of the story, but she preferred Proty-Garth to original Garth so she just rolled with it.
