No, but the modern comics has abandoned the notion of the big three acting like brothers.

Modern comics have destroyed a lot of things. At they are not dying next month like Namor.

As much as I love kids, characters like Wonder-Tot and Super-Baby make me want to scream. And I cannot stand Bat-mite.
Spare me these annoying mascots.

No, but the modern comics has abandoned the notion of the big three acting like brothers. Actually I see the relationship between the 3 as being very similar to the Avengers I love. There has always been disharmony in the team, right back to Hawkeye bitching and complaining about Cap in the early 60s. BUT they always get it together where it counts, and that comes through in the films. There has always been mutual respect between most of the Avengers, and especially the big 3, but they havent always seen eye to eye, look at Civil War.

Reading now I sound like a tool (which I may well be) but the initial statement refers to the movie versions being relatively similar to the comic books. I think the other thing to remember is that it all reverts to norm eventually, always has. Im trying not to get too hung up on the whole continuity thing. I really much prefer a good story with pretty pictures. Really, IMHO, the best way forward would be to essentially publish mini-series, even if they used legacy numbers. So this month in Batman 847 we start a new arc by Starlin and Gulacy. Be here in 3 months for the next story by Bunn and Mignola. It would save burning out creators, would eliminate late books (solicate when book is complete). Its probably not too different from how they publish now, a new volume for every creative team change isnt it ?

The modern books, of which Civil War is part of, are the problem. The big 3 have always been the elder statesmen in the Avengers. They have been called in during the past to " straighten everything out". Civil War was a bad idea , in retrospect, for the MU. It was an uncomfortable book and it will be an Uncomfortable movie when it comes out next year. I still dislike Ms. Marvel and Tigra from their portrayal in that series. Stark and Reed Richards really came off like scum, also.

I always found this character fascinating. His name was Bloodsport.
His power was that he could make weapons materialize from thin air. Don't you wish you could make things( not weapons) materialize also? I would love to find keys, misplaced cell phones etc.

And they would be full of Wonder Tot, Super-Baby, Bat-Mite, Zook, Krypto Streaky, Beppo, the Space Canine Patrol and stories with Batman and Superman changing a flat tire while Supergirl and Batgirl gloat over the success of their conspiracy.

Know which character I would ask to write if Marvel offered me a mini-series for one of their minor characters? Razorback. There, I said it.
Cei-U! I summon the Big Pig rig, by jig!

I could see this being very interesting. A super-hero for the South! From meth gangs in the Ozarks to meeting Man-Thing in the Everglades to race riots in Baltimore to protecting religious freedom in Kentucky when the county clerk is a homophobe.

Aunt May seriously surprised me here. Not the act itself...I mean, when I'm her age I wanna be all horny too, but who the hell says "Fuddy Duddy."

I really liked Giantman/Goliath ,back in the day. It was hard to see Jim Shooter turn him into a psycho wife beater.
