I love a nicely done foreign edition. This one is in french and has a hardcover. Looks good without the yellow from the actual comic. There, I said it.

It's nice that it was "en couleurs" instead all just one colour, I hate it when they do that.
Joking aside, is that the standard way to say "in colour" in French? I would have guessed it was "en couleur", if I had ever had to write it.

I would have guessed it was "en couleur", if I had ever had to write it. Both are grammatically correct, but you’re right; “en couleur” would be the right way to write it. The s puts an emphasis on the fact that there’s more than one colour... which may not be that bizarre, as some comics I’ve seen did have pages with black and red ink and nothing else.

I wish DC horror titles like Unexpected weren't cancelled in the 1980s. Those horror shorts were fun reads.
There, I said it.

Speaking of DC’s mystery titles...
I preferred the Phantom Stranger in his old raincoat that in a turtleneck and cape.
There! I said it.

I love horror anthology comics and am always sad they don't last long (in the modern era.) I've been getting the HoM and HoS omnibuses as they come out.

DC's horror anthologies in the 70s were really good - except for the ones edited by Murray Boltinoff. When I was actively buying new comics, Boltinoff edited Ghosts, Witching Hour and Unexpected, and they were the first comics I ever stopped buying after starting to collect them. Boltinoff's books seemed to be aimed at a significantly younger audience than Orlando's (and Marvel's). I felt the same about his superhero books except for Brave & Bold.
There, I said it.

I haven't bought a comic book, either new issue or back issue, since March 11. Over a month ago. No additions. Nada.
Longest dry spell in 21 years.
There, I said admitted it.

On the subject of horror anthologies, I do miss the DC ones of the 70s. What modern horror anthologies are decent? The Dark Horse revivals of Creepy and Eerie were ok, right? I’ve only read the first issue, but Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Terror is promising.

I never followed any of them regularly thanks to crappy distribution here in Phoenix, only grabbing an occasional issue here and there when a cover or stories inside caught my attention. But towards the end of the late 70's during high school I was picking up and following Weird War Tales for the Creature Commandos as well as the House of Mystery for I, Vampire.

Richard Corben's take on Lovecraft was nice too (I haven't read his Poe one but I'd like to.)

I haven't read any, but there's a magazine called "The Creeps" that explicitly adopted the aesthetics of the Warren magazines and even has some of Warrens artists and writers.
