Imagine a large percent of the population ignoring concrete science that will save them from a climate disaster or a deadly virus. What advanced people would do such a thing? It's the stuff of sci fi and fantasy.

I've ranted about how much I loathe Byrne's Superman before so I won't go through all that again ...you are not the only one. This is why I love the way he's handled in Kingdom Come; he knows he has a life and reputation as one of the Mount Rushmore of heroes, but in his heart, he's content still maintaining his farm. In the end, he knows both identities are a part of who he is, rather than rejecting one side.

I have a philosophy that applies to all of my online forum stomping grounds: Don't ask me about my politics, and I won't tell you where you can go. This is probably the #1 reason why I don't do any of the "big 3" social media platforms. I don't need the "noise factor" in my life. And ya know what? My life is pretty stress-free. I took kirby101's post as a tongue-in-cheek remark (notice the winky-wink emoticon), simply because I do not know him or anyone here on a personal basis. Therefore, who am I to judge their character?
I'm not directing this at anybody specific, and if others want to talk about that stuff, more power to 'em... you just won't see me participating.
Hey man, I'm just here for the comics. By and large this corner of cyberspace is pretty laid back and I like it that way.

I can’t like this post enough. I have a twitter account and I removed it from my phone and haven’t visited it in months. I hate the fighting. I don’t want to be part of the political thread here for the same reason. It ended up self destructing anyway. A lot of the issues that people are passionate about will not have a final answer for years and I refuse to get triggered by comments made on the places I visit. I like all the members of this forum even if a few have shown that they don’t like me. That’s ok. I’ve made friends on this forum that I care about, some that I have met and many that I haven’t. I wouldn’t want to lose it because of insensitive comments. ( I’m not referring to you Kirby).

Just a friendly reminder that while mentioning politics or politically sensitive issues isn't against the rules, it is discouraged at the CCF. Likewise, piss-takey, passive-aggressive or combative responses towards other forum members are not welcome here.
The Classic Comics Forum is a place for discussing vintage comic books. If you want political discussions with people online, then find another forum that caters for that. The Classic Comics Forum isn't that place.
We are here for comics and community.

Attempt at humor backfires, story at 11:00. You forgot the full teaser: "Will this bring the end of the world? We'll find out after these messages." You have to hit them with the heart stopping anxiety, before delivering the advertising for all the soothing products.

I hope we can overlook if someone posts about something that might be political (and it sure feels like everything can be sometimes) where it directly affects them, perhaps suddenly so (like connected to the virus), but generally I will try my best to walk a line, or do some needed walking back, with respect and listening to others' wishes.I'm not one for 'enemy' or even ignore lists... unless it's declaring Doctor Doom an enemy and I can ignore Lobo!

Lobo is so obnoxiously ignorable... should be easy.

I won't tell on the others that are there as well. My lips are sealed. most of us old timers have accounts there. I haven't been on there for over a year. But you can't delete your own account.

I still kept my account at the former place, but I cannot remember the last time I intentionally logged into it.

If you guys are talking about the CBR forum, I guess that means I still have an account there, too. I think the last time I checked in there (I hardly ever posted anyway) was just after CBR made the transition to that blingy, sparkly mess that it is now. I also probably still have an account at the Masterworks forum (I think it's officially called CollectedEditions.com now), but the last time I checked in over there was over a year ago.

I never bothered to re-create a CBR account after the 2014 meltdown. The way that the powers that be treated the old Classic Comics sub-forum was...yeah, not great, let's just say that (trying hard not to break the forum rules about badmouthing other communities here). By the time I found this place a few weeks later, it was clear that almost everyone who I gave a crap about in the old community was already here, so this became my new online home.
