Maybe that's why Superhero comics are dying.

My favorite Fantastic Four artists Jack Kirby John Buscema Rich Buckler John Romita Sr Byrne Perez Keith Pollard Joe Sinnott I really have a soft spot for Buckler , though. There I said it.
Mine would be pretty similar but with an earlier cut-off date:
Kirby Romita
Buscema Buckler Perez Pollard
The other thing for me is, as great as Sinnott's synergy with Kirby was, I don't think he was the best match for some of the others, especially Perez and Pollard - keep him away from everyone whose last name starts with a P! But seriously, I thnk he really killed Pollard's style in particular - although to be fair I think Pollard was one of those pencillers whose individual style never came out fully unless he was doing his own inks, which didn't happen nearly often enough, to my taste.
Buckler was doing a bit of a deliberate Kirby imitation or homage on his FF run, and that worked well for what it was. Buscema had a lot of really nice moments but also some when he seemed to be be going through the motions - perhaps due to over-work and his well-known lack of interest in superhero comics in general (though that never seemed to hurt his Avengers). Romita was, as always, solid but not spectacular (or should I say "amazing"). Perez + Sinnott actually looks better to me now than it did at the time but I still think it would have been better with a different inker: again, compare his Avengers work from around the same time. And Pollard, like I said, I really wish they'd tried a different inker, or even allowed him to ink his own pencils now and then if it could have been arranged somehow - I imagine he wouldn't have been fast enough to do pencils and inks on every issue.

Not a fan of Byrne? I actually liked Byrnes first few runs with the Sinnott inks more than his art in the celebrated one. It seems like the FF became much more skinny when he inked his own stuff. Pollards art came through even with the Sinnott finishes. Compare it to his Thor or Spider-man stuff and you will see the same line work. Perez was bad in his early FF and Avengers work. I feel he only got to be really "good" around when he just left for DC.

Maybe that's why Superhero comics are dying. That's definitely a part of it for me....I don't feel like I'm getting $5 of entertainment out of a current comic in alot of cases.

That's why I love my Sub to Marvel unlimited. 69 dollars for the year to read the new books on a 3 month delay is worth it to me. But I will confess that I usually read the older books more.

Perez, I actually prefer his earlier work on the Avengers to his DC stuff, which might be better from a technical POV but doesn't look as good to my eyes.

I hope in the next panel Supergirl said, "How do I know you're not both bad and agreed between yourselves to lie to me? Sorry, but I'm going to have to destroy you both just to be safe."

I have noticed something so ridiculous lately on Facebook, people are slabbing books that are Graded at 1.0 and .05. Why bother, what can you finally sell it for ?
There I said it and stop being a nut.
