No, the last story in The Wake or the last issue of Sandman proper. I waited for....e....vverrr... Sandman # 75 was months and months late. And then thought it wasn't very good. Ah well. I actually agree. I did not like Sandman #75 much at all. And it was sooooooo damn late.

My library has The Kindly Ones. I have the individual issues, but I like pulling out the collected edition and reading a chapter or two before getting down to my regular library business. I've been reading it for a little over a month and I'm about halfway through it.
It's as good as I remember it. I haven't read it nearly as many times as Doll's House or Season of Mists.
(I've also been reading Forever Evil the same way, but that's relatively new and gets checked out a lot, so it's taking me longer to read it. I've only got two chapters to go so I'll probably just check it out of the library next time I see it.)

Yeah, I liked a lot of what were originally issues 70-74 - side note: I started buying Sandman with 68 - but none of it felt absolutely essential.
I got Overture from the library yesterday. The art is just jaw-dropping.

I think when I get back home from Christmas vacation I'm going to make a separate thread to talk about why I think Sandman #18 and #75 are so good.

It's curious to see how the other Gaiman poll, shows consisted results as far as Sandman is concerned, despite the fact that you can pick up to 3 choices there. Two votes for Endless Nights and one for Overture, the rest opt for the original series. I guess people are quite clear about their Sandman opinions. Reminder: we're just one vote away from lockdown,
