I love that '66 Batman, but every one I've seen looks like it was rolled through gravel before packaging.

I love that '66 Batman, but every one I've seen looks like it was rolled through gravel before packaging. Well mine is now out of the box, but it was in god shape when I got it. There were 2 on the shelf, one box was a bit torn up, then there was the one I got. -M

If it wasn't clear, I meant the actual figures looked damaged. I'm all for opening toys (and comics), and they'd probably get damaged anyway as I let friends' kids play with them if they want but I'd like it to look new at least for the ride home.

Ah. This one was in excellent shape when I opened it. My wife hasn't opened Rocket yet, but he looks in decent shape too.

I was looking at some toys in stores last week. Cannot say I was too impressed by the range; there are a lot of really bad toys on the market these days. Often over-priced and with not so great paintwork and poor articulation.

I have one of these on a shelf in my comic book room. I never had one of the original ones when I was a kid, so the moment I saw one of these cheap, I bought it without a second thought.

I had one of the original Dewbacks in the 70's. The Stormtrooper didn't so much ride astride the dewback, as slid in through a trap door on the dewback's back, so the Stormtrooper's legs were inside the beast. Same thing with the tauntaun I had from Empire. -M

Sadly the Dewback never came out here (at least officially).

Of course, He-Man could ride Battle Cat easily because all of those figures were in a constant half-squat pose.

That link led me to an Elastic-Girl figure, which led me to this which I want.

These Micro Machines were the only two I didn't set at a yard sale. They are of course the X-Men's Blackbird and the Batplane from the Tim Burton films (which IIRC was called The Batwing). The Blackbird even has retractable landing gear which is a neat feature.

I had so many Micro Machines as a kid and had no idea there were licensed toys.

The Batwing was actually done by a company called ERTL and came as part of a set that featured the '89 Batmobile and a purple and yellow van with the Joker's face on the sides.
I just call all tiny vehicles Micro Machines whether or not they were made by Galoob/Hasbro. Kind of like how people say Band-Aid instead of bandages or Kleenex instead of tissues.
The Blackbird was actually licensed by Micro Machines and came in a set that included a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants helicopter and a Wolverine 4x4 Tracker.
I remember having two Spider-Man sets by Micro Machines as well that featured a Spider-Man car, plane and two different motorcycles, a Venom Flying ATV and Carnage Road Killer.
