The Cover Contest Rules: Thank you all, especially Michael J. Kaluta. My computer went dark last night, so just was able to log on. Thanks, mecha! This week’s theme: Team-ups used to be the exception, not the rule. Batman and Superman: Bo-o-o-ring! X-Men and the Teen Titans? JLA/Avengers? Meh. Been there, done that. Find as oddball, unique, and off-the-wall a team-up as you can, between heroes, villains, real and fictional characters, whatever. With any luck we will create a gallery of weird one-time oddities. Fer instance… As always, please read the rules: Post one, and only one, classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. - Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before Jan 1 2005. - Covers must be posted before voting begins. - Voting begins on Tuesday, December 29 at 12:01am PST and ends at 11:59am PST. - Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. - Put the name in bold or it will not be tallied. - The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. - The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. - If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; don't post disparaging remarks about it. If a cover is more recent than the Classic time frame, kindly point it out and the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins. - When posting covers, remember GCD (aka comics.org) doesn't allow hotlinking and if you use them for the source to post your cover, you will see it because it is in your cache, but no one else will be able to see it. Use a source other than the GCD for your image for others to see it.

From MechaGodzilla
I'm not submitting a Cover this week because I will be taking vacation from the 27th to the 30th next week and I need a volunteer to do the votes tallying and awarding the next week winner via Private Message.
This is an one-time thing and please use this thread to announce yourself that you are taking the responsibility for me next Tuesday, the 29th.
Thanks Everyone!

Santa has met a lot of superheroes over the years but this one always felt the strangest. But apparently it was demanded and the tagline says "most requested villain of all". Santa must have peeved a lot of kids that year.

Because apparently the psychic spoon-bender Uri Geller was a big deal in 1976.

Oh, this week's gonna be fun. I've got 3 off the top of my head, but I'm going with probably the least obvious

There can only be one: (and although they only physically appear inside the comic, they DO get name-checked on the cover, so I'm counting it )

Actually its the Rhino in costume so maybe technically not a team up but I still think the image of Hulk vs Santa trumps any other of the fat man's comic book appearances.....unless someone can show me otherwise in the spirit of Christmas!
