An anthology I've contributed art to is currently on Kickstarter, and all the other stuff I've been doing for the last couple of weeks is currently in slushpiles waiting for someone to write me a rejection letter.

To take a break from sending things off into the void I'm getting back to a four page strip that I started a while ago and will never send anywhere because A: the joke is SO bad no one would buy it and B: the copyright problems.... here's a sample of work in progress:

That took a lot longer than I was expecting (or it was worth). I really do need to get out more....

I'm going to have to redraw part of that last one. I drew Dynamic Girl as a darker-skinned woman with a yellow mask. She looked fine on my work computer but when I saw it printed out, and smaller on screen here, she looks like a yellow-skinned woman with a beard. Not a good look for anyone, let alone a superheroine.

My sketchbooks are normally full of half-drawn comic strip ideas, doodles which grow to fill the page, invented faces, and scantily-clad space babes, but occasionally I do some proper drawing. This is my eldest daughter watching some video 'Art' piece in the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art the other day. One of those rare times when my pencil did exactly what I wanted.
