Occasionally, here at Gosh-Wow Towers, we like to dig into the vaults and unearth some long-forgotten piece of trash masterpiece. Today, for your delectation and delight, we present an eight page reprint from the July 1953 issue of Sordid Stories.

I'm currently going hell for leather on something that might turn into a whole book. Poossibly called Moon-maidens from Outer Space though that will certainly change. I have a lot of gags and some semblance of a story (it's a riff on the Cat Women of the Moon type - 1950s American men in space encounter an all-female society and teach them about truth, justice, and heterosexual shenanigans.) I managed to tear myself away for an hour from cooking and looking after the kids and wrote a strip about... cooking and looking after the kids... Life during Lockdown.  And when I say 'write' I meant 'transcribed'. |

"Shades of" nothing! The hat was a direct swipe from the great Mr H! Well spotted - though I did swap the original cap badge for the Planet Express logo. And thanks for liking the Ben Day effect. It took some doing I coloured that one as separate CYMK layers - as near to the old production method as I could work out how to do on a computer. I'm not sure I really want to repeat the experiment it took so long to get right but I'll tell you, I really have much more appreciation of the craft that went into colouring four colour comics now than I did before I started. |
