As responses seemed favorable, I just posted the full reading schedule in the OP. Of course, it's subject to change based upon the consensus of the group:
February: Cerebus #1-25
April: High Society
June: Church & State I
August: Church & State II
October: Jaka's Story
December: Melmoth
February 2017: Flight
April 2017: Women
June 2017: Reads
August 2017: Minds
October 2017: Guys
December 2017: Rick's Story
February 2018: Going Home
April 2018: Form and Void
June 2018: Latter Days
August 2018: The Last Day
Funny thing I noticed, though. This February, we start. Next February, we read the volume that sort of "recharged" the series after the lull in Jaka's Story and Melmoth. Two Februaries from now, we read the volume that "recharged" the series after the lull of Guys and Rick's Story.
I wonder if we've stumbled upon an inadvertent cycle in Sim's writing, or possibly a reflection of a cycle he experienced in his own life.

So I some looking... apparently my Vol. 1 phone book is signed by Dave Sim on the cover (I found a few sigs on ebay and they're pretty similar)... so that's pretty neat.
Also, what's the deal with the 'Swords of Cerebus' collections? They seem alot cheaper than the phone book versions.

As I understand it, all the Sword of Cerebus collections put together = the content of the first Cerebus tpb. After that, Sim switched to producing full "phone book" sized tpbs, starting with High Society. He later went back and published what's now vol. 1 of the Cerebus trades.

Did Sim ever put some of the "odds and ends" issues into the phone books? I know that Cerebus #51, for example, was not published in the High Society collection (#26 to #50) or the first Church and State collection (#52 to #80). (And Cerebus #51 is HILARIOUS!)
I think there are a few other stories floating around (wasn't there original material in the Swords of Cerebus collections?) that's not in the phone books. Most of it (maybe all of it) was published in a comic called Cerebus #0.

Yeah, no. Some of them were reprinted in comic form, but never in TPB.
I could do this. I've read 90% of Cerebus but a couple of the volumes (Hemmingway, Bible Fan-Fiction) I never made it to the end of.

Most of it (maybe all of it) was published in a comic called Cerebus #0. Cerebus #0 (1993) and Cerebus World Tour Book 1995 both print at least most of it. Honestly, I never bothered to check, as there is no sense of anything missing if you just read the 16 tpbs. However, there is at least one story in The World Tour Book ("A Night on the Town") that is utterly priceless. Cerebus also had stories in Epic Illustrated #26, 28, 30, and 32 that, while not necessary at all for your enjoyment of the 16 tpbs, were similarly fantastic. Beyond a bunch of covers for small press publications over the years and two truly unnecessary crossovers with Spawn and with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the only other Cerebus work out there (which I've never read) is in The Animated Cerebus, a portfolio reproducing material from Dave Sim's original pitch for a Cerebus animated series. Edit: And, thanks to your question, I finally gave in and ordered The Animated Cerebus after three years of going back and forth on the decision

Watch the spoilers, RR. We've got folks in this thread who have never read that far. Gotcha. Joke done, I delete the spolier!

Edit: And, thanks to your question, I finally gave in and ordered The Animated Cerebus after three years of going back and forth on the decision I have two other Cerebus stories appearing outside of the title : Anything Goes #3 and Nucleus #1. There are many other appeareance of Cerebus in other comics including DC ones, some drawn by Sim and Gerhard, some not, but one I think is worth reminding is in Scott Mccloud's Understanding comics, Cerebus being alongside Batman, Tintin and Archie's Veronica one of the sole 4 characters used in it. One other worthy mention is Craig Miller. He had a short lived indie book in the 80ies, Renegade Rabbit (which featured Cerebus as well), but he also created and edited 75 issues of Twin Peaks fanzine Wrapped in Plastic before he lauched Following Cerebus for 12 issues, until his passing in 2012. Following Cerebus is a wonderfull platform that Sim and Gerhard collaborated to, and is a must read for any Cerebus fan in my opinion.

I have two other Cerebus stories appearing outside of the title : Anything Goes #3 and Nucleus #1. These are actual Cerebus stories written by Sim? If so, I was not aware of them and need to track them down right away, The Understanding Comics one is a brief and forgettable cameo. I was attempting to chronicle full and substantial Cerebus works.
