^ It's not as hot as other wasabi / horseradish pastes. It's an appropriate temperature. If that makes sense. It makes perfect sense.

I'm more a mustard and relish person ... I've only relatively recently discovered the joys of American mustard, thanks to my fiancée. In fact we had some just about an hour ago on some Quorn vegetarian hot dogs...delicious! I like French or Dijon mustard a lot too. English mustard, however, while looking deceptively like American mustard, is fearsomely hot and will strip the flesh from the inside of your mouth without any trouble at all. I try to avoid it at all costs. Stone ground mustard is my favorite of all mustards. (Here in the states inglehoffer is pretty easy to get.) It's spicy, got some grit to it and really tastes great. My father in law gets some locally where he visits in Texas somewhere and it dang good. I'm not sure if I've seen Colman's here in the states or not, but I'll check at the grocery store.

I haven't run across those, or perhaps I've been looking in the wrong portion of the veggie shelves at Publix, the only place near me that carries Quorn products. Other Quorn stuff I've had has been decent enough, but not exactly life-altering. (In fairness, I'm still in mourning, some 20 years later, over my failure to ever find any more of the veggie roast "beef" that the health food place in Little Rock used to carry, made mostly if not entirely from gluten & peanut butter, of all things. It was terrific.) As for mustard, I tend to go with brown. Though I've had at least one brand -- French's? -- that was either mislabeled (unlikely) or really heavy on the horseradish or something comparable, because it was far hotter & sharper than what I was accustomed to from Gulden's or Kroger.

I love indian food. And some indians look at me and GAWK because I can eat more pepper than them. One day I will take the plunge and bite that scorpion pepper.
Of course, feeding the rellies and friends that hot spicy curry sends half of them to the loo with a case of the shits.

I still hold a grudge against English mustard after a trip in the UK in 1978. After a few weeks of French mustard, I had been happy to have access to what looked like the sweet and inoffensive stuff I had grown up with, and poured generous amounts of it on my hot-dog. Your description of its effects is spot-on. It took three fire brigades to put out the fire in my mouth.

But I don't go for anything hotter than a dansak, which is at the hotter end of "medium hot". The likes of a vindaloo are right out of my league, like they are for most Indians. I read once that the vindaloo was actually created specifically for the British market as something that pissed up idiots could be given when they said, "I'll have the hottest thing on the menu."

I try to avoid it at all costs. I do like Colman's Mustard but I use it sparingly because it's best for me to use it like that. I loved it on Hot Dogs, certain Corned Beef Sandwiches and I was introduced to this Mustard by my brother who craves it. He and I grew fond of Mustard and we use it for our Sandwiches for both Lunch and Dinner. I keep a jar of that at home and take it with me to Barbecues when I can.

One of our Aussie suppliers wrote some rather nasty comments about Trump supporters on his facebook page and is now emailing us wondering why we cancelled an order from him. Well it's quite easy, he's lost our business. I think I see 2, no 3 emails asking to discuss this, but he can honestly go to hell.

What sort of idiot used his business Facebook page to bad mouth those of a certain political persuasion? If you wanna talk politics (or anything else potentially controversial), use your personal Facebook page. It doesn't take a genius to realise that some of your customer base might not be of the same political leaning as you. He deserves a customer backlash, frankly.

Here's another idiot anti-Trump CEO, from Grubhub, who emailed his own employees a political tirade threatening termination for those who might have voted for the President-elect. Now his business has plummeted once it made the news and the stock has dropped 5% this week. nypost.com/2016/11/11/investors-choose-to-snub-grubhub/

I doubt church attendence fell 5%, but the priest responsible might have to say a few extra Hail Marys next time he goes to confess.

Trump got 2.64 million votes in NY, great way to rub off that base.

If you take that same story and just reverse it, saying you would fire Hillary if she worked for your company and had her views, it would be just as obnoxiously stupid. The board of directors for that company need to show him the exit, and no golden parachute

The board of directors for that company need to show him the exit, and no golden parachute I dream of the day that will be the case for any higher-up who screws up, just as it's always been for the little guys. The rich scratch each other's back and help elect people who facilitate their control over all our lives. That's why I prefer social-democracy over any other system currently practiced.
