Sounds like he could have been one of the bad guys who battled the AAU Shuperstar in those comic book ads from the 70s. Anyone remember these?
I do! We never had AAU shoes in this country, as far as I know, but I remember really liking those ads as a kid. They were just so mad.

hondobrode for an even manlier cover featuring Teddy Roosevelt.
(And kudos to Prince Hal for pointing out my error and allowing me to correct it.)

Ish Kabbible. That's long (decades and decades) been a favorite of mine.

Close, but this is a cover I've never seen, from a book I've never heard of before. Plus, Andorians are hot.

Prince Hal for an even manlier cover featuring Teddy Roosevelt. I love that you voted for me, foxley, but I'm thinking you might have meant hondo's "Bully Pulpit" entry. I went with the World's Finest combo of Washington and Lincoln on the old Strange Adventures cover. If the rules allow for a mulligan, I am happy to release my vote to the candidate of your choice.

I'm going with MatthewP because it's a bit subversive casting Washington as a villain. (Even though you know it won't turn out that way.) Plus I loved Rip Hunter comics, even thopugh Bonnie is wearing a cowgirl-length skirt. Come on, Bonnie, make the move to Spandex leggings, at least!
Honorable Mensches to phil and mecha
