New Comics can appreciate in value (I've seen 2011s Batman # 1 go for a C Note) but it's fairly rare. Last one I had some fun with was Edge of Spider-Verse #2 which debuted Spider-Gwen. The 25:1 variant topped $300.... Prices for the 1st print regular issue have remained fairly high. I'm predicting the new Batman #1s due later this year will be cash cows, especially the rarer variants...I don't want to muck up on missing one of these again.

You should be more politically correct in the future, Hal. I thought calling Trump a boorish lout was being politically correct. So is calling Hillary two-faced or Bernie a commie. It's not like we have the greatest choices.

If the choices are not "great," they are certainly clear. I guess that calling him a Commie might not be a slur if he were a Communist. But he's not. It does tend to point out the folks who don't understand economic systems or political ideologies though. So that's a plus.

And you're right; it's helpful to have your enemies, whether political or ideological, identify themselves.

Let's return to the subject at hand, folks, please. The price of auctioned comics is polarizing enough as it is!

Funny thing is, it's my understanding there is a nicer Action #1 than the one that set that sales record.

Wealth distribution, more government control, harnessing nationalism as a political force... Sure sounds like communism to me Basically, Bernie and his Marxist ideals can be summed up as followed: Hate the man who is better off than you are. Never under any circumstances admit that his success may be due to his own efforts, to the productive contribution he has made to the whole community. Always attribute his success to the exploitation, the cheating, the more or less open robbery of others.

Warmonger (how am I not insulting you by addressing you that way?), Roquefort asked us not to go off-topic. However, I'd be happy to attempt to counter your measured analysis of Sanders, socialism, communism, social Darwinism and the politics of resentment in a more appropriate thread if you'd care to do so. I'll keep a Big Brother eye out for you.

Who has it? That is an interesting rumour...
What about most expensive comic with a double cover? I only ask because I recently came into one. A quick eBay search shows a nice 9.0 Superman #171 for $1500.

I don't remember if it is the copy owned by the collector known as The Dentist or not, but from what I've heard, it's supposedly an unslabbed 9.2. People who have seen it in person have said that in hand it is definitely sharper and brighter than the slabbed 9.0. But I don't remember any other details. I gather it's not expected to be up for sale any time soon.
