I also find it amusing, ironic and somewhat appropriate that badass seems to have originated as a saracastic slang in Marine jargon to refer to a poser who acted tough but really wasn't-someone who was all bark and no bite. The sarcasm seems to have been lost on people who adopted the term, but since I find most people who try to be badass really are posers, maybe it's appropriate.

It's also a slang term that originally applied to bullies, we laud it, then wonder why bullying has become such an issue in our culture and why o many people think there is nothing wrong with it and cause so much harm. So, not so much bitter, but despairing the attitude behind the adoption of this phrase and others of a similar ilk and the unintended consequences such behavior patterns wreak on our culture and future. Output equals input, when you input garbage, you get garbage out (or if you prefer-You reap what you sow, and when you sow garbage, you get garbage in return). -M

The most "cool" scenes in movie history. The most "awesome" movie scenes in history. If the topic doesn't interest you, simply scroll right past it. What's the deal?

? MRP only seemed quite informed... On the other hand, that makes you seem really young I see you're confusing "informed" with "pretentious". Maybe pretentious as well (up for debate), but definitively informed as he's not the one confused between the meanings of bad-ass and hip/cool/awesome, juvenile also comes to mind, bisous

Oh don't mind me, I always remain of the optimistic nature and hope that a potentially great topic will catch up with its ambition. Give us that, with such bold assessments as True Romance or Leon withholding the most awesome scenes in history, we're entitled to have a little fun with this, nothing mean spirited
