This year when I an afford it lol theres a few old comic series I want to complete
Nightstalkers Blade old Alpha Flight. Maybe lol. Not every single issue. Mostly with issues 70 to the 100s since I didnt even know Alpha Flight was still going on in the 1990s
also the old NOW Comics Ghostbusters and Fright Night should be easy to buy and complete since last year I was trying to rebuild my collection of NOW Comics Ghostbusters. I still have issue 2 from back in the day and its really worn out lol where the front and back cover are loose from me when i was a little kid back then where I was kind of rough with whatever comics I had in the mid 1980s

I'm about 3/4 complete with anything Millie The Model, the 'Archie' type era from the late 60s to early 70s. The Queen-size editions in high grade are hard to find.
Most other series have deliberate gaps...like Amazing Spider-Man, it gets very spotty after #252 to #490ish.

From what I gathered, the title did not start off as a hard knock-off of the Archie titles, at least until 1950 where there were obvious similarities, but it made the biggest format (and artist) change as Archie had another surge in popularity in the late 60s? Sort of similar situation: I have ASM 1-300, but... Agreed. ASM #298 (McFarlane's debut, if I recall without going into the cabinet) was the beginning of a few bad years for ASM art, first with McFarlane, then Larsen. Yikes.

Top of my list is The Defenders from #62-68.
I have some holes in runs of '70s Thor it'd be nice to fill in. Also one small three issue gap in Avengers (#131-133), and I'd like Iron Man to go back a bit further maybe starting with #80 (which despite the nose is a great Kirby cover), but it was a fairly mundane period for Iron Man. Also Champions #1-6 I don't have might be nice to complete the set. So, yeah, all Marvels, except I did mention '70s Charltons elsewhere I've pined for having again.

Wow. You must like a real challenge... The Millie queen-size issues are 1 step away from unicorns in terms of rarity these days. If you do find them they are usually trashed, like so many others from that genre, and the romance genre, and the war genre, and the western genre. It's been my experience that non-superhero books got traded and swapped among young readers much more than the superhero books.
Good luck in your search. I have several silver/bronze romance and horror titles that I'd love to complete, but as you said, high grade copies (even 7.0's) are few and far between.

Are you looking for the Millie books in high grade only? I have a number of later issues I don't need, but lower grade. There's a guy on the cgc forums who just completed a full set of high grade Marvel picture frame comics - from around 1972 - and he said the hardest were the Millie issues. I think one of them is the only book from that set of like 300 comics below a cgc 9.0 because it just doesn't seem to exist above 8.5.

Yeah, prefer higher grade, the books in my collection are VF-NM. I have several more in VG territory but it's something I'd like to upgrade and been a work-in-progress.
As a consolation, when I draw blanks with Millie, I still get several high grade 12c-20c cover Archies, those aren't as scarce.
