Because they have a movie called Civil War coming out in May and hope to gain sales from name recognition that wouldn't happen with something new. -M |

Nobody stays dead but Bucky and Uncle Ben. Oh, oh.... Uncle Ben did come back during the Spider-Verse event. On a parallel Earth, he was bitten by the radioactive spider and gained powers. He eventually settled in with Mayday Parker, helping her and her family since her father Peter was killed during the event. |

I've often wondered why Bill Everett's estate never filed to recapture Namor. It's a much much simpler case than Superman as it's very very clear that Namor wasn't created as work-for-hire.

(The movie rights for Namor are not even associated with the FF) Last I heard, it wasn't Fox who had the rights to Namor, another studio ( I think it was Sony or New Line) had them and had a film in development, but it was stuck in development hell and nowhere near seeing fruition. -M Edit to add: a little Google Fu reveals it was Universal and it looks like their window closed and rights returned to Marvel/Disney, but not 100% sure on the rights issue. Universal's target release was late 2016 but nothing ever came of that. |

Namor's movie rights are the same to the Hulk's movie rights: Universal has first rights as a distributor (so Marvel can make a Hulk or Namor movie, but Universal has first rights to distribute the movie and only if they refuse, they can go to another distributor). |
