Beat Super Mario Odyssey. Currently have around 230-240 moons. Will probably go for 100%.
It's great, but I think the plot should have had the players return to at least some of the worlds for more missions, instead of making returning either optional or part of the post-game. The 'main game' ends up being only 20-25% of the game, and I think that that's not a good ratio of main-game to post-game.
That's my only real complaint. There's also an enemy that's required to capture and is a real pain to control, but that's one enemy out of dozens. It's a great game. Not sure how I'd rate it compared to Zelda BOTW, but I'd rate it higher than Mario Sunshine and 64, though lower than the Galaxy games. Those are still the best platformers ever.

Interesting point, and thanks for sharing. That said, I get that Mario 64 is dated now, but I'm not sure it's fair to compare it against the modern games. Either way, for it's time, it was breathtaking and jaw-dropping.

Maybe it's not fair to say that so much of the game is just post-game, but it might as well be. More than half of the available moons are completely skippable, and the game provides 0 incentive to look for them once you've gotten 'enough' in each zone. It also does a poor job of conveying the fact that you can return to past zones and doesn't provide any reasons to.

I played a bit of BotW last night, and if you got the DLC package initially there's a new side quest with bonus stuff in it for those that may want to check it out.

I havent bought the DLC because I played the game on my wii u. I know I am buying a switch at some point and by the time I feel like playing the game again I am going to rebuy it on that to so I am waiting with playing the extra DLC stuff until then. otherwise I have been playing Streem world dig 2. Its a pretty fun game. Although it is pretty easy to play through.

But being that I knew I wasn't going to rush into it, I knew I get my money's worth on the Wii U edition. That's not to say though at some point I won't still buy it on the Switch. Maybe just not the DLC again. Cause to be honest all of it I can do without and still enjoy the game.

By sheer dumb luck, I snagged a SNES Classic mini. I've been popping into stores and asking if/when they had them figuring statistically I might get lucky one of these times. I finally did, but I was so conditioned for that no response the clerk had to repeat themselves 3 times that they did in fact have them. While a stranger might have questioned my cognitive or language skills, I did at least get one.
It really is a good value for what it costs, and I was pleasantly surprised it came with two controllers. It's so small! I would also be remiss if I didn't acknowledge there are some glaring omissions for an accurate 90s-kid-SNES-experience, at least for me. TMNT Turtles in Time, Final Fight and Mortal Kombat (preferably 2) would have been more accurate and more or less ensured all of the major boxes were ticked partially if not fully.

I have my old SNES and a raspberry pie to play the games I dont have. I would buy the mini but the price for these are ridicules here in Denmark. The NES classic was 699kr. A normal new AAA game is usually about 500-600kr so that was a pretty good price for the mini. But the SNES classic is 1299kr. Thats way to big a price rise for me to want to consider buying it.

Ah, that sucks that it's so expensive. Yeah, I thought it was a good deal for what it was at $80USD, but I refused to pay scalper markups for it so waited until I found it.

The stupid thing is that this isnt even like this is scalpers who are asking this price but normal retail stores. Its ridicules.

Checked another game off my list by beating Final Fantasy 4 on Steam. Beat the remake of 3 on the DS years ago. It was good, but by the end the random encounters were more difficult then the bosses, even the final boss. Beat Zeramos on my first try, and Kain never even took any damage because he was always jumping. I was surprised at how quickly the final fight was over even with my spamming fuma shurikans and bahamut. Never even got to use the knife Yang's wife gave the party.

Well, the wife bought me an SNES Classic for Christmas and after hounding her all day yesterday, she let me open it early. Brings back a ton of memories but there are a couple of glaring omissions. Mainly Chrono Trigger, Sim City and Super Mario All-Stars off the top of my head (would’ve liked to see Zombies Ate My Neighbors included as well and a two player beat-‘em-up like Final Fight 3 or TMNT: Turtles in Time). Still a nice nostalgia package for $80. I’d go out and buy another legit SNES if I didn’t have to also get an old CRT TV and have that taking up space.

Very nice! Yeah, for me it's TMNT Turtles in Time, Final Fight and Mortal Kombat (preferably 2). The lack both TMNT and a co-op beat-em-up is an egregious miss for an early 90s system, and Turtles in Time would have ticked both boxes. Super Mario All-Stars would be great, too, but maybe they thought it would compete with the NES Classic Mini (as if anyone can find one of those).

If anyone is thinking about buying a game from the Microsoft Store, don't. Avoid that vile thing like the plague. Get an XB1 if you need to play PC games that are not available anywhere else on PC like Gears of War. Even with the added cost of a console, the inferior aiming controls compared to mouse and keyboard, and a regular XB1 likely being weaker than your PC, it is worth it just to avoid the Microsoft Store.
