Does including "Yokai" in this Legends volume rather than in the main Saga series mean we won't see exactly where it falls in Usagi continuity? I would assume that means it didn't officially happen. I had that sneaking suspicion, but I could also see Dark Horse wanting to pad the page count. Senso and SU add up to--what?--about 450 pages? That's 150+ pages short of the typical Saga length. |

That's 150+ pages short of the typical Saga length. Well there are certainly other out-of-continuity Usagi appearances they could have used for that. Are they even including the Terry Miyamoto story? And you can always pad pages with early conceptual art and such. I would love to see some behind the scenes stuff for Space Usagi. I agree that Yokai seemed like it was set in the main continuity, but maybe Stan had a reason for not wanting it included. Perhaps he regretted how much it gave away about Sasuke? |

Another story included will be Gagged, a Sasuke the Demon Queller short was published in a CBLDF issue. It will be reprinted in color.
Yokai fits into the Usagi continuity exactly when it come out. It was the first time I showed that Sasuke became drained when he overextended his powers. It happened again in the comics at the conclusions of that zombie episode.

Maybe we can look for Saga vol. 8 in summer, 2018. Summer 2018 would make pretty good sense, that way it can be released at SDCC along with Book 32..... |

Mine will be here Saturday. 550 pages of content for under $20 (for the paperback). I can't think of a better deal in comics--or in any medium, really. Patience of the spider, my friend. (But if we're going to do a sort of office pool, I say preorders in January for release in June.)

The saga editions are so perfect, aren't they? The ultimate luxury reading experience in hardcover; the ultimate bargain in softcover. For the cost of five new comics, you get three times that of Stan Sakai excellence. If we had an award for subtle Usagi references around here, this would have won 😁 |

I have a smattering of the originals but plugged most of the holes with the Classic Usagi line that Dark Horse put out a while back collecting the original Fantagraphics stories. |
