Sean William Scott(Stiffler) says the reason you don't see him much anymore because Hollywood isn't interested in making comedies anymore... but it seems more like he's just a victim of typecasting to me as there have been plenty of great comedies of late. Seann William Scott was never funny to begin with. I've never been able to sit through ones of his films.

I thought the first American Pie movie was pretty decent, though I don't think I've seen it in over ten years so I don't know how well it still holds up, but even that said Scott was hardly my favorite part.

He was great in Evolution. But then so was everyone involved in that movie.

Never sat through the entire film but have seen parts of it. If anything Eugene Levy and Jennifer Coolidge are incredibly funny talents although Levy turns up in a lot of schlock.

Saw the 'It' remake last night.
It was pretty good, but I think they really went overboard with the CGI in places where it wasn't even necessary. I yearn like hell for the days of practical effects and gurus like Tom Savini, Stan Winston and Rob Bottin.
The interactions amongst the kids in the Losers Club are great, but there are some big editing and pacing problems. You'll see a scene with Pennywise that is genuinely pretty damn frightening but then it immediately cuts to a lighthearted, jokey scene.
It's a better adaptation than the 1990 TV miniseries...but I think I still prefer the miniseries simply because of Tim Curry.
Skarsgard is good in the role, but Curry was just perfect.

I think they're rerunning the mini-series on On Demand. I know the premise of It, but never read the novel, and I enjoyed (mostly) Stranger Things. Would you say the Curry mini-series is worth watching even thought the movie is a better adaptation?

I think so The miniseries may feel a bit dated, but there are some legitimately creepy moments and Tim Curry is EXCELLENT as Pennywise. The first half where they're kids is much better than the 2nd half where they're adults IMO.

Starring Adam West (2013)
It was kind of bittersweet watching this documentary posthumously but it's an interesting look at the highs and lows of his career as well as a wonderful love letter to his fans.

I know what you mean here and that's why it is difficult for many fans to watch it. I watch it a year ago and I've meaning to watch it again to see my feelings has changed. I love that letter too.

On the other hand, I saw It this weekend and think it may be the best movie released in 2017 that I've seen. (I'm not counting the 2016 movies, including some Oscar nominees, that I saw in early 2017).

Interestingly enough, one element of it ages really poorly and really shows how far etiquette and understanding of the internet and online world has come since the 90s - the scene where they secretly record the girl and the main guy's sex scene without her consent. I forget the character's names, but in the movie it's treated very much as a boys will be boys silly finger-wagging kind of naughty prank, whereas today I believe that is a criminal offense and would be swiftly and correctly condemned.
