Thanks for the support and advice, everyone. It means a lot to me. I lost my mom less than 2 weeks ago so I understand. You'll make it through this. That would be her wish.

Thanks for the support and advice, everyone. It means a lot to me. This reality is just kind of setting in with me. My folks are both in their mid to upper 60's and I know it's hopefully far in the future. But it's still setting in.

Thanks for the support and advice, everyone. It means a lot to me. I've don't know what to say and how to address it and I was stunned by your post on page 2 of this thread and I'm so relieved that you are getting the help that you need and most importantly have a wonderful girlfriend can help you in a long way. Scott, thanks for letting us know what you are going through and I wish that you get all the help you get and I'm sending my vibes for a successful outcome and thanks for letting us knowing what you are going through. You are sorely missed around here.

Crimebuster, try doing what your namesake would do - put on your hockey uniform and do battle with a nefarious metal-mouthed villain. Seriously, this seems to have good advice: www.helpguide.org/articles/grief-loss/coping-with-grief-and-loss.htmYou've already done the first thing they suggest - get support by turning to friends and family. That's us.

I've never posted in here before but oof, it's been a rollercoaster of a weekend and I have no idea what I should do. Sorry to hear that, crazyoldhermit. What always cheers me up a little are good comics and music. I don't want my problems to take over my existence, so little things like these help remind me that even if the troubles look pretty bad right now, they will pass. As my kid once said years ago, seeing me depressed about some damn thing or other, "don't worry, dad... it's only a problem". From the mouth of babes and all that... Hang in there, hermit!

Hi my depression has been bad now for awhile, some days are worse than others but yea. Also with my health issues and my parents health issues has made it really hard. This is also why I didn't post for awhile here as you know depression stops you from doing some things you enjoy to do. I just do the best I can everyday I should probably switch meds but am nervous to do so .I have a new doctor who I need to talk about this more the other one was good but she left the place.

I was depressed losing my job in 2007 and took me awhile to get back to my feet and thankfully it's took me a year and half to get back on my feet and with all this going on I have to admit that I needed help. I'm glad that you are recognizing it and on the road to recovery. Do some fun things and cheer yourself up and most of all thanks for being here and I'm rooting for you as always.

I've been trying to deny it for several years now, but a number of recent events have finally forced me to confront myself about my possible depression and anxiety. I've made an appointment with a psychologist for this week and I'm terrified of what I might find out about myself. It's scary, but I hope I can find some peace of mind soon.

First Steps are the hardest and most importantly ... it will steer you to the right directions and hope that the psychologist can help you. I've been there and it's not an easy thing to admit ... but in time will serve you in a positive way and that's a good thing for a piece of mind and comfort.
