NOT AN ENTRYHey, that scissor-headed bird on the cover of Jingle Jangle #4 (top-left) reminded me of one of my favorite books from childhood, The Ice-Cream Cone Coot and Other Rare Birds by Arnold Lobel It was a whimsical ornithography that delighted me to no end. Each entry was accompanied by a verse describing the features and habits of the various birds. Some were quite intimidating. The Jack-Knife Niffy, for example, would "swoop down and cut off your nose in a jiffy." I can't find the page with the scissor-bird, but you can see him here on the inside front cover (upper left, along with the vicious Niffy):

Well, if the Princess of Earth wants an Evil Lunatic Thing, I'm not going to be the one to tell she can't have one.

Some actual, genuine royalty for you. God bless you, ma'am. Hope you survive the maddened superhero.

How about a little All-Father Odin this week, as rendered by The King and Joe Sinnott?

How about a little All-Father Odin this week, as rendered by The King and Joe Sinnott? I was thinking of an Odin cover myself--great cover! Btw the inking didn't look like Sinnott to me so I looked it up--gcd and Mike's credit the cover inking to Wally wood. The velvery musculature (particularly on Absorbing Man) bears that out, IMO

The velvery musculature (particularly on Absorbing Man) bears that out, IMO Comic Book Database (which I use to catalog my collection) as well as Marvel.com both listed the cover inker as Joe Sinnott ( JiM #122), so I went with their information.
