This 18th issue of DC's Phantom Stranger was my first of that series, and remains a very special comic, even with the absence of Aparo. It was one of my favorite individual issues in one of the early "Classic Comics Christmas" events. And obviously, a very nice looking cover, even as it breaks convention with the hero shown from the back. (One thing that frequently amazes me is the quality of coloring in so many 70's comics covers. Even with the time's more primitive limitations, a good color artist could achieve some remarkable and impressive results).

It is a bit of a shock to the system that Promethea #18 is old enough to qualify for this contest. My mind keeps saying "No. Promethea is a recent title, isn't it?" Mind you, I had exactly the same thought regarding my own Fables entry. It was only when I realised that Fables had finished at #150 did I think that the early issues might qualify.

My only beef about Covers showing here is the fact that feel that all covers should be at least 500 pixels by 650 pixels so that everyone can see the art better so that we can make a good judgment of what covers we can vote on Tuesday.
Sorry about venting this beef here.

Sorry about venting this beef here. No offence, but not all of us are technically minded. I don't really even understand what you just said and would have no idea how to ensure my compliance with your preferred standard. I just click on stuff and hope for the best, frankly.

He's just saying they should be a size where everyone could appreciate it. In the other contest, if it's no larger than a postage stamp, I just bypass it altogether. When you click on a google image it tells you the size. It's good to download the largest one, or go to GCD and download their scan.
