Let's just say I haven't logged into any other comic book or geeky related sites in the last few days since the DC Rebirth spoilers hit the internet.
In the words of the Penguin, "run silent, run deep."

A spoiler can make your car look fast. Whether it actually goes faster is debatable.

Honestly, the right spoiler can actually make more interested in seeing/reading something.
It's never going to play out on the screen or page the way it does in my head.

What's the point of a spoiler alert if it comes after the spoiler?! I hope you can avoid spoilers until the books are out. Good luck.

Depends on the topic. For example. I love the Walking Dead. But with my work schedule, watching the show as it comes out, isn't easy. Added to the fact that I live in household who can't stand zombies or horror or gore? And I share a room? It ain't happening. And if I missed last week's episode? I don't want to watch the next. I end up binge watching when it gets released on Netflix or something. So, to keep me sane and up to date throughout the year, I ask friends to tell me what's new. "Spoil it for me." I say.
But when the Force Awakens started coming out, I wanted to know nothing. I avoided everything Star Wars. Just to make sure I hadn't a clue. Just to make it like I was watching the A New Hope when I was little. Did somethings get spoiled? Yes, sadly. And that made me angry.
There's a Scream tv show out (IF YOU LIKED THE MOVIES YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE SHOW!!!) and I wanted nothing spoiled because I wanted to guess things myself.
There are games like Pokemon that I want to be kept up to date on what's being released. "Oh, a new Pokemon reveal?! What is it???" And then there are games like Fantasy Life and Dying Light and Assassin's Creed and games like that, it's more of a Do. Not. Tell. Me.
I think that's the difference. If I want to know, or if knowing keeps me sane or if knowing will make it more enjoyable later, I don't mind spoilers and will even seek them out. Or if I'm not interested in watching or reading or playing, I don't care what you tell me. And maybe if you tell me, there might be something to get me interested! But if I don't want to know, then telling me will only make me mad. And then I'll rant about spoilers being evil.
I know, you're probably seeking people to be on one side or the other, and often I try to pick a side, but this time? I have to be in the grey all the way.
In conclusion, I have a love hate relationship with spoilers.
