supercat do you recall who made that Spider-Man statue? Yeah, that's a Bowen (and one of the ones actually sculpted by Randy). I got really into collecting those for a bit, still have a good number. Many of these are really amazing and to me some of the best representations from the classic eras of my favorite characters.

I love Bowen too, and would love to get more. I had that Spider-Woman bust (love the bust line), but I broke it.

As part of my "staycation" this week, in addition to some great reading, I'm also going through some of my stuff in storage and pulled out some statues today for a quick photo shoot. I used to have these all on display, but we were thinking of moving at one point and I packed them away. Still not sure if we are committed to staying where we are or if we are going to eventually move in the next year or two, so for now I'm not getting too elaborate with display spaces. DC theme for this wave... Some Golden Age goodness (these are some of my favorite, but Aquaman wins it for me...that grin, and those yellow gloves!): Next, a recreation of the first Kara Supergirl appearance. These had a really high shipping breakage rate but I wanted this one so badly and could only find online. The first one I got came shattered, so I had to send back for a refund. The second one had the spaceship door broken off, but otherwise in great shape. It was a very clean break so I decided to glue and keep because I didn't want to roll the dice, and you can't even see the seam so I'm happy I kept it. I bought this Catwoman and Harley from the old WB store in the downtown mall where I lived back in the 90's. It was DC heaven back then between signed art and statues and whatnot and at retail versus after market prices. And with the animated DC shows bringing a ton of old school fun back, I have really good memories of this era. The Supergirl I picked up a little later online, it also had a high breakage rate so I got lucky this one came with no problems! Finally a few random busts...classic Atom on Hawkman's shoulder is my favorite here!

Not sure if there are many "Misties" here, but my wife and I have been huge MST3K fans since way back in the day. Many years ago we caught word of someone who was building extremely authentic working replicas of the bots, meticulously searching out the exact materials that were used to put the originals together, and we were able to purchase both Tom and Crow from them. We've had the pair up in an alcove at the entry of our house for ages (my wife is also a big Dr. Who fan hence the TARDIS in the background), and today I went up on a ladder and gave a proper cleaning:

Changing up the comic on display above my workspace to get into the Halloween season. I can fit 6 comics on the V channel, but can only get 5 in the spread pick, but all 6 are shown below... the two on the left... the two center books... and the right two books... -M

Well since we're playing D&D in the room I have my desk for the summer (better AC than the finished attic gameroom) I sapped out the books on display to a D&D/fantasy theme... -M

The last several months I've been working on getting the room in the basement organized as well as organizing comics and OGN/collected editions, purging stuff I no longer need to own as I will not reread it or just decided it's not for me any more. Finally got to a point where it is starting to come together. Here's a glimpse at the bookshelves in the basement. Marvel trades/OGN on the left shelf, "indy" (i.e. anything not part of the shared DC/Marvel Universe, so some ICON or Vertigo stuff is mixed in), fills the center shelf and the lower part of the right shelf. The top of the right shelf is a mix of Star Trek/Star Wars stuff (novels, trades, etc.). The DC stuff, and the rest of the indy stuff (stuff by creators whose names begin S-Z) is still on the shelves upstairs in the finished attic. I organize the indy stuff beginning with anthologies and stuff by diverse hands, then alphabetical by the primary creator (if there are two creators, I usually, but not always, file it with the writer, but there are exceptions that have reasons that are only meaningful to me. Here's a glimpse at the shelves as a whole... and a peek at the top 2 shelves of indy books (roughly anthology/diverse hands books and A-B) top shelf l-r and second shelf... I try to leave a little room on each shelf for future acquisitions. I'll get more pics taken in the coming weeks... -M

The decor isn't much; but, the content is pretty sweet.
