And I got some prints too... From the booth "The Man Who Shot Luke Skywalker" I picked up some stuff from Kim DM Simmons, the photographer who took all the Vintage Star Wars toys pictures Kenner used on their packaging and box art. He has done some digital art featuring Star Wars recently and I picked up a 5 pack of blank greeting cards featuring some of the art for $5, he threw in the larger print featuring the Millennium Falcon gratis because I took the time to show interest in his work and stories. The Falcon print and Simmon's business card... The other pieces included... the Jawa Sandcrawler Imperial Star Destroyers a flight or Rebel ships including several X-Wings a flight of Tie Fighters and the actual card with the Falcon more to come... -M

Lastly, I ended up commissioning 3 sketch covers from artist Justin Wasson. Justin had done the program art for Gem City a few years back and some stuff for Champion City. I only intended on getting 1 originally, the Green Arrow as a birthday gift for my wife who adores Ollie's classic Bronze Age look, but Justin's work was so good, and so affordable I ended up getting 2 more done before he day was done... So, the classic Ollie here is for Amy, hence getting the loose Super Powers Green Arrow to go withit... I next asked if he liked Flash Gordon, and he said he loved it, and then asked who do you like better, Flash or Ming, and he was chomping at the bit to do Ming, and voila.... hence the Ming figure I got too. On the way to pick up the Ming when he was done, I found a dealer that was selling blank variants, and they had the Future Quest blank, so I picked it up for future use, but when Justin saw it, he showed me a Space Ghost piece in his portfolio and mentioned he loved the Hanna Barbera heroes, so I ponied up for this... which Justin gave me at black & white rates even though he did it in color because it was my third one of the day form him, our parting conversation brought up Thundarr, and we agreed next show I see him at he wants to do a Thundarr piece for me, so I look forward to that one sometime in the future-I don't have any kind of Thundarr comic blank cover, so it will be on some other art board. and that was the haul that was for the Ohio Toy & Comic show. I'm tired, my wallet's empty, but I had a blast and got some really cool stuff. the delaer friend I bought Conan the Barbarian #1 from a couple of years back was there and we chatted a good chunk of the day while I wanted for Justin to sketc, and he loved the sketches too. We talked about books we are looking for and he has most of the Savage Sword issue sI need and a solid reading copy of Savage Tales #1 back at his shop and in his personal collection he is selling, so I will be stopping in to see him sometime next month to pick those up as he is holding them aside for me until I get there, so the afteraffect haul from this show will grow some too in time. I also got a lead from another dealer (the guy at Innerspace Toys) on a guy who is looking to sell his Starbird electronic spaceship (one of my high priority wants) who has a booth at a local flea market between Cinci and Dayton, who might also have a Mighty MAn and Monster Maker for sale too, so I need to follow up on that as well. -M

A lot of it was funded by birthday money that I got from my mom a week or so ago, otherwise it would have been a much more modest haul. The Retro Megos were a trade too, I had a couple of copies of Outcast #1 and some other Image and Marvel books I was looking to trade and I knew the dealer pretty well so he gave me the Megos and I have to drop off the books at his shop sometime after next week when he gets back from vacation. It was a surprising amount of trust he put in me letting me take the Megos home today without having the books with me. -M
