While I have an unending capacity for comic book plots, I seem to have a complete blind spot for ST plots - the nearest I can get is "it was the one where that guy had a thing and some Borg were then and then they did stuff" - I'm constantly amazed that people can remember episode titles and things.

Well, I did have to look that one up. I remembered the story well but not in which season it occurred.

If DS9 counts, Siege by Peter David is very good, especially if you like Odo.

Anyone have any reccomendations for TNG novels? The Destiny trilogy by David Mack has a grand scope, and since it happens after the end of all the series it doesn't need to return us to the status quo ante. The federation is blown to pieces, a few major supporting characters die, a few others see big development in their characters, a few know planets are destroyed, and the plot itself is very engaging. Mack doesn't quite have the "voices" of the characters in the way Peter David does, but I really like those three books.

Anyone have any reccomendations for TNG novels? Never read a TNG novel that I loved, but DS9's Avatar rocked my world.

Anyone have any reccomendations for TNG novels? There's a PAD one where Tremayne (from the original series) gets tied into the Q Continuum that I really remember liking... Q-Squared I think it was. There's also one with Worf as a diplomat I liked... not sure the title though. It's only sorta TNG, but I also liked the 'New Frontier' novels.. they have Shelby (from the Borg episodes) as first officer to Mackenzie Callhoun of the Starship Excalibur... it was originally a series of novellas (when those were popular a few years back).. I think there ended up being 3 or 4 full length ones.

I guess I just don't see how the examples you cited above are all that repetitive of one another, but you're entitled to your opinion. I know they're not EXACTLY the same, but I felt like the mucking with the time-space continuum thing got overused... much like the holodeck got overused in the middle of the series after they turned out a couple cool episodes.

Anyone have any reccomendations for TNG novels? Anything by Peter David, Greg Cox, Diane Carey, Michael Jan Friedman, the Reeves-Stevenses...

That's what I get going from memory and not looking up details... I didn't know they did that many New Frontier ones! Are they all by PAD, or do they turn it over to different writers?
