I picked up the TNG novel, The Eyes of the Beholder. I hope it's good!

That's Trelayne, and there've been over a dozen New Frontier novels, a collection of short stories and several comic books. That's what I get going from memory and not looking up details... I didn't know they did that many New Frontier ones! Are they all by PAD, or do they turn it over to different writers? The collection of short stories are stories by various authors, everything else is PAD.

Did anyone watch the fan film Of Gods and Men starring Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig? What little I saw the quality was really impressive. The entire film is available to watch on youtube. It's definitely worth checking out.

I'm on a full-blown Trek kick this month with CCF Film Club's assignment for the month being Space Travel. I plan to watch the first six Trek films, as well as Forbidden Planet (prototype for Trek), and episodes from all of the series but Voyager (which I've never liked). Part of that includes my continuing to steadily move through the Enterprise series, which is difficult because, while it isn't bad, it isn't all that good either. Just decent all around. Fortunately, I appear to have hit a stretch partway through the Third Season where the episodes have been consistently getting better. Tonight I watched Twilight, a basic alternate future that needs to be prevented episode, but those are always fun, and Enterprise really hasn't delved into time travel at all yet. I'd easily call this my second favorite episode from the series thus far (the Season 1 cliffhanger being the best). It's not TOS, TNG, or DS9 quality yet, but the reason I keep pushing on is that there's nothing bad about the series; it still has the potential to rise to that level. Episodes like this one give me some hope.

I think I'm a few episodes before that... my wife kinda petered out, and since I've watching DS9, I haven't pushed it. I agree though, it's definitely decent, but not great.

Has anyone watched the Star Trek: Phase II (New Voyages) fan series? I haven't watched any of it yet but I read that there are eight episodes, Gene Roddenberry Jr is the consulting producer and several Trek alumni actually appear in the series.

I've seen Of Gods & Men and the Star Trek Continues that has had 3 full episodes, and I'm looking forward to the Axanar movie. I haven't checked out Phase II yet.

I watched The City on the Edge of Forever. This is definitely one of the best episodes of TOS that's out there. I'll put up there with Charlie X and Space Speed as one of my favorites so far.

Did anyone see the latest episode of Star Trek Continues? It's a sequel to the episode Mirror, Mirror. Pretty good to get another episode.

Did anyone see the latest episode of Star Trek Continues? It's a sequel to the episode Mirror, Mirror. Pretty good to get another episode. That series is remarkably good. The scripts feel like actual Trek episodes and not like fan fiction (a problem I have with other similar productions). The guy who plays Kirk is impressive in his impersonation of William Shatner; he even moves like him on screen. And the paucity of special effects, even in this era where CGI makes so many things possible, is a very wise approach: it makes Star Trek Continues closer to TOS. I also really enjoyed seeing Lou Ferrigno playing an Orion in the episode Lolani: nobody plays hulking green guys like him!

It took me a while to get used to the new faces, but after a while you just really get wrapped up in the story. In the latest episode, the guy who plays Spock, Todd Haberkorn just blew the doors off. That was definitely his episode. It is strange though, because he is playing the mirror version. He just owned it though. It has been three episodes though, and we still haven't gotten off the ship. I think it would be great if we could do that. I'm guessing budget concerns might be a problem.

I watched that just last week. I tend to think of it as my favorite Star Trek ever, and I think that opinion held on this rewatch.
