I heard about it in the news and I don't know what is going on and I can say this is really a very bad way of terrorizing any community that they feel fit.

Just when my opinion of most of humanity couldn't get any lower, I read this and it somehow drops another few points.

The marketing for that remake of "It" is really getting out of hand.

The marketing for that remake of "It" is really getting out of hand. That's what I keep thinking too, though I'm not certain.

Or...y'know...people could stop being afraid of everything and "terrorized" by silly crap.

Yeah, but someone attacked one of the clowns being weird and got stabbed.
I think it's some kind of horror movie promotion.

Yeah, but someone attacked one of the clowns being weird and got stabbed. I think it's some kind of horror movie promotion. What is "being weird"? If you attack someone you probably ought to expect to be stabbed. If it's the one in Pennsylvania, then it appears that a teen wearing a mask was stabbed to death. I think that comes right back to what I said about people not freaking out and being "terrorized" by stupid crap.

From what I've read, they stare menacingly at people or try to lure kids into the woods with candy or money.
I'd seen the article in my newsfeed a few days ago but thought it was stupid enough to not read. Finally read it last night waiting for the pups to come in from the back yard (I'm the doorman as Susan refuses to get a doggie door).

Staring menacingly is hardly a reason to be terrorized, much less attack someone.
I don't see where any of the reports of "clowns" allegedly trying to lure kids into the woods have been substantiated.
I honestly think this country has lost its collective mind.

If I got terrorized and freaked out every time someone stared menacingly at me, I would have never been able to ride the subways of New York, the T in Boston, a public bus or commuter train anywhere or have walked into a classroom at any point when I was teaching or as the new kid as a student (never went to the same school for more than 2 years at a clip until high school so was always the new kid). And some of the people you meet there would be less creepy looking if they were wearing a clown mask.

This has been going on for years by now. Don't know why it's suddenly newsworthy.
