The classic red & white Falcon costume is the one I'm most used to but Colan makes that green one look good too. But I'd have to see it with a few different artists to tell whether or not I really like it or if it's just that Colan's style making it work. You can kind of see this. Sal Buscema drew the green clad Falcon in Avengers #88. And Falcon's daughter wore the Colan green design in the pages of A-Next for her debut.

A short lived new look for the members of X-Factor from the late eighties.

A short lived new look for the members of X-Factor from the late eighties. Oh how i miss the days of simple, clean streamlined costumes. why is it all the designs these days have to be so involved and realistic looking? Comic books are supposed to be fantasy aren't they? Why do we need to have the depression of real world function and looks coming into a world of fun, vibrant colors? ...oh the pain, oh the agony, oh the inhumanity of it all...

So we can have abominations like Nolan's Batman films? I kid, I kid. Mostly not though :-)

I think the green costume was shown in Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty. Garney or Cully Hamner.

Technically not a costume but what about the different versions of Mrs. Grimm's big orange boy Benjamin? Do you prefer the original Kirby lumpy dinosaur hide look (more like mud/clay to me?) or more towards the scaled rock Kirby/Buscema/Byrne version or the insane pineapple headed with horns sprouting during the days of Englehart? Do you prefer our boy Ben with just blue trunks or with a full body suit or wrestling style open arms or just with trunks/leggings? With or without the stupid helmet?

I'm a big fan of the "classic" rocky look, with just shorts. The evolution of the Thing's look from "gorilla with dinosaur hide" to rocks was interesting during the early FF issues. It seemed like different inkers were struggling with figuring out what Kirby was looking for.

Now what I always found annoying was when variations of Ben's duds had him wearing boots, as if he actually had to worry about damaging his feet. I thought that was dumb.

WestPhillyPunisher Putting on Boots on the The Thing is got to be one of the idiotic ideas that came out of Marvel Comics ... nuff said!

That's a comic I look forward to reading for another reason: I remember being very impressed as a kid by the villain, Psyklop, when I read the issue of the Hulk that I think is part of the same story as this Avengers comic, going by the cover - written by Harlan Ellison! though I wouldn't have noticed that at the time.

@popzeus
I'm more inclined to Blue than to Green; but I do like the Green Costume with the Brown Boots too; just to let you know that.
