First of all, I'm not a huge fan of the Dr. Strange character - my primary exposure to the character were the original comics w/art by the great Steve Ditko (from the 1960's); I first read reprints of these comics years ago, and later I bought the first MMW in TPB format.
So, when I saw the film on Blu-ray earlier this year, I wasn't expecting to be wowed too much. And, I was right - the film was honestly not that great. It didn't resonate for me at all; the CGI was just OK, and the storyline was average. The film kept my interest enough for me to watch it through to the end, but that's about it. Not sure I'll ever want to see it again.
Note that years ago I did see a Dr. Strange animated film on DVD - while I don't remember much about this, I do remember liking it more than this newer live-action film. |

Finally got around to watching it on Netflix.
It was okay but a majority it still left me cold. Even though Marvel is starting to get around to some of the characters I've liked and followed, they're still lacking the emotional depth that connects me to them.

watched again, this time on small screen. wanted to see it again before weighing-in here.
still love most of it. too much forced humour with many jokes that feel like when Mark Waid tries to write 'funny' lines for millenial characters. 'lead balloons', anyone?
and Dormammu. better than the misty sphincter in the sky of Galactus in the 3rd ff film, but not by much.
Aside from that, adored it.
8.5 outta 10.

Saw it, underwhelmed (to be polite). I never imagined in a million years it would badly compare to  Charles Band 1-0 Marvel |
