I have a wall for displaying books. Having just taken down my first theme (Halloween of course) I need a new one. Pick an option you would like to see and by next week, I will tally the votes and display the wall most voted for. I included options for books that I have enough of for a display. Thanks to all!

I have a display wall, myself, and I learned the hard way to only display books that aren't particularly valuable. Books get brushed up against, knocked over, bumped into, and sometimes even take damage from light sources. Display something that is beautiful but replaceable, and rotate your display often. Good luck!

A few years ago, a person from the CBR posted pictures about their walls that included a fair amount of comics. I posted and told them that the light could fade the comics over time. I got a warning from the mods that the person felt harassed. So, maybe I shouldn't give my opinion.

Good luck! Ah no worries. My display is in a hallway of the house that really has no purpose, so it serves as a gallery walk. No traffic unless you are walking down it to see the books. As for the light, no natural sunlight hits them. There are lights in the hallway that I turn on to view the books but I cannot see them causing damage. And I plan on not leaving books out for a long time. I know they prefer dark and dry, which is why the stay in my storage shelves away from light of any kind, next to my dehumidifier that regulates the room.
I appreciate your concern but I would rather enjoy them out and have them fade a little over the next 40-50 years than sit away where no one sees my glory

I totally respect that. And, if you're rotating them regularly you'll be good. Mine are similarly displayed in a hallway that only leads to my computer and comic stash. Nevertheless, you'd be surprised how many times folks have come through to see my collection, and BAM. Also, the newer energy efficient bulbs do have a yellowing effect on paper over long term exposure. YES, display them and enjoy them! Just use care

Are there better lights that do not do damage? Again the exposure they would get might be 5-10 minutes a week if that.

I worked for B&N, for 20 years. Our front window faced East, so anything we displayed in it had to damaged out. We once had a title with a red cover. It was a very light rosy pink before we changed the display. We also originally had a lounge area, with a couch, which sat in front of one of the windows. When we removed it, there was a demarcation line across it, with darker fabric below, and extremely faded fabric above.

I am in the habit of turning my comics back cover up when I leave them un-filed. Light is the enemy.

That's the way to go! Comic books are for reading and looking at the beeeyootifool artwork! i refuse to bab and board my comics as it is too much of a bother when i pull them to read. They are boxed and protected from dust and light in my back bedroom and i know they will age, just like i do so enjoying them is my sole desire.
