Yikes on having a murder nearby! We had a neighbor commit suicide years ago, they were in a basement suite (not really legal but they rented it out) and this single native woman did herself in within a couple of months of moving in. Felt really awful about that. Nice animated gif avatar though MechaG! I know ... I'll have an interview with the Police later on today to help them to catch the killer -- they are interviewing all neighbors around him -- the appointment is at 10am today. I change my avatar every 24-48 hours for kicks and thanks ...

Today I got my later order from Mile-High, a big run of the Two-In-One Project Pegasus issues (all newsstand editions as they were supposed to be). I will have to file for a refund on the much smaller and less expensive order if it fails to appear within a couple more weeks I guess. I'd rather it just show up. I received my Milehigh order over the weekend. They waited 16 days before they mailed it and it arrived 3 days AFTER they sent it. If they had the books in stock , I wonder why there was such a long delay in shipping them ?

They sometimes mention shipping delays when they have an especially generous sale.

I loved that Project Pegasus storyline One of my favorite storylines. I'm working on filling in the whole 2-in-1 series, and I'm a handful of issues away from having all the issues before the Project Pegasus run (as well as the Project Pegasus issues).

Ok, I have to vent a wee bit for I am both anxious and aggravated though I really shouldn't feel this way but I can't seem to help it.
In two weeks, I'm supposed to have surgery that will put me out of work for a month. It's been rescheduled twice now so while it's good that this new date is a week earlier than the previous one, I can already feel my anxiety level slowly beginning to rise. If I have to have it done though, then let's just go ahead and do it then.
However, by small coincidence, the week of my surgery is also the weekend of Raleigh SuperCon, an event that I hadn't known about till this week thanks to some promotional commercials that I saw for it on a local TV channel. Checking over the guest list online, I'm wishing now that I didn't know about it.
The guest list features quite a diverse set of pop culture celebrities, from actors to pro wrestlers to popular cosplayers to comic creators. Of interest to me are: Michael Dorn and Walter Koenig of Trek, Who alumni John Barrowman, Karen Gillian and Catherine Tate. Dave Bautista is due to attend. On the comic front, we have such notables as Neal Adams, Peter David but also Keith Giffen, JM DeMatteis, and Jim Starlin (who, to my knowledge, has never been to HeroesCon in Charlotte)
The biggest thrill for me though is among the prominent attendees who are voice actors. Steve Blum has had a successful career, most well-known as the voice of Spike on Cowboy BeBop as well as the voice of Wolverine on a number of X-Men cartoons and video games.
Kevin Conroy is due to attend. The voice of Batman himself.
I am beside myself for more than likely, I will be in no condition to attend this event as a result of starting my recuperation from this surgery. From what my doctor tells me beforehand, I won't even be able to drive for up to a week after the procedure. The wife was beyond elated when I told her about Conroy's attendance (she's long been a Batman fan) but heartbroken over the timing.
I know that I need to take care of myself, this procedure is needed and necessary but man oh man, is this ever frustrating. ARGH!

String - sorry to hear about both your impending surgery and the fact you'll probably miss that show, which sounds like it will be awesome. You could have written nothing other than "Karen Gillen" and you would have had me hooked, as she is my #1 celebrity crush. I absolutely adore that little Scottish ginger. It's always rough when things like this coincide. I had eye surgery two weeks ago and it seemed like I might have to miss going on vacation with my wife, kids, and sister. Thankfully, I was cleared last Thursday to travel, but my anxiety level was through the roof leading up to that, as I was really concerned that I might have to stay home by myself, since there was no way I was going to have the four of them miss the trip. Hang in there for now, take care of yourself and follow all of your doctor's instructions so that you recover fully, and then you'll be all ready to go to the show next year. I'll be praying for a routine surgery and an uneventful and quick recovery for you.

Eyeball Update from The Captain:
This week has seen a lot of improvement in my eyesight. At the start of my vacation, everything in my right eye was blurry, but as the days are progressing, I'm getting more and more definition to what I'm seeing. This morning, I am able to identify small and medium-sized objects sitting on a countertop about 10 feet away, including their colors.
The only thing still "off" is that my pupil continues to be very dilated, so my world, through that eye, appears to be yellow due to the excess of light. I'm hoping this will continue to lessen as time goes by, along with the continued shrinking and eventual dissolution of the gas bubble, which is sitting in the bottom of my vision range and jiggles every time I move my head, an event that is a little disorienting.
As for vacation, it has been marvelous. The weather is great with nice temperatures, the food had been excellent, and the time with my family has been both fun and relaxing.

Don't know what surgery you had, but I've had conflicting schedules like this before. You might be surprised asking your doctor. When I specifically told my doctor about a similar event, he basically said it was general guidelines and if I felt up to it to use my own discretion.
YMMV but good luck with the surgery for sure

Trump is in the UK andthe police are given camp beds in a gym to sleep on, while the women just gym mats on the floor. Feel sorry for them all, my bro got to help protect this guy by working extra shifts too, not sure how after the night sleep you get on a camp bed in a gym and no access to hot food.

Here's a great collection of photos from the National Cartoonists Society's recent Reuben Awards weekend: cartoonician.com/philly-fan-addicts-the-2018-reuben-awards-weekend/Lots of newspaper strip cartoonists and folks from MAD magazine, including some of the last pics of Nick Meglin, who died a few weeks later. There are a few people who worked in comic books also, like Joe Staton and Sergio Aragones.
