My pop passed away this morning. Non covid-19 related but he was admitted to the hospital two-weeks ago and stopped eating. He was 90 and I think was tired. He went almost every day to visit my mom who has dementia and when the shutdown occurred, he was not allowed to visit her anymore. I think he became depressed and gave up. He was my hero who always worked and never treated us with anything but love. Very sorry to hear this. My dad unexpectedly passed away in August and it's a very hard thing. My thoughts are with you.

Proof that all the best people read MAD magazine... Two big things I enjoyed a lot in my childhood in that photo (not that I think either of them should not be enjoyed by adults).

Now that there are toilet paper shortages everywhere, when are we going to figure out how to use the three sea shells!?

Jimi was said to read and maybe even collect the '50s E.C. comic books (as related by Cyril Jordan of The Flamin' Groovies group who collected comics and drew cartoons) so he didn't play the guitar constantly it seems. Hendrix also read science-fiction and the song Purple Haze was partly based on a story involving a purple ray weapon. A little earlier we spot David Crosby of the Byrds engrossed in a 'Pop Art' Production...

Hey beccabear67, how are you parents doing? I know that you were concerned about their going out amidst the pandemic.

If anyone is interested, Humble Bundle is having a killer sale on the complete The Walking Dead digital TPB collection right now. For those not familiar, Humble Bundle has regularly changing bundles of electronic items - usually PC games, but sometimes other software, books, comics, etc,
They negotiate with a content creator to get the stuff. You name your own price, unlocking certain things at various tiers. You also choose what amount of your money goes to the charity of your choice, the content owner, and to Humble Bundle.
The tier to unlock all volumes is $18. Not each, total. That is insane. I bumped it up to their suggested $25, split it three ways, and it worked. Just FYI in case anyone is interested. With 32 TPBs plus a few special one offs it's an absolute steal. Now I get to finish the series without taking up space.

So back to work tomorrow. Had a nice month long break, wish I would have been more productive with my time, but oh well...

Hey beccabear67 , how are you parents doing? I know that you were concerned about their going out amidst the pandemic. So far so good, thanks for asking. We have had very low numbers around here thankfully and my Mom is still taking safety very seriously. My Dad is still a bit too lax about it I think, but I haven't had any panic attacks over either since I seemed to be having them constantly in the early days. Their oldest friend is also taking it very seriously so they can still get together three times in a week as usual, my Mother told him that would stop if she thought he wasn't minimizing risks like she is. We get him groceries weekly so he won't have to do that, and he has a backyard to himself to putter about in. He almost went into a retirement home a couple of years ago and now is glad he didn't. He and my Dad both grew up in occupied, and then post-war, Holland.

Wife: You'd better pick up a Mother's Day card for your Mom today
Me: OK
Wife: And maybe one for (my sister) Emily as well.
Me: Why? She's not my mother.
Wife: No, but she is A mother.
Me: So is Shaft, but I'm not getting him a card either.
