HEY NOW! Them is fighting words! I survived on French Fries dunked in my chocolate shake all through high school. For $1 you got a large fries and shake (choco or vanilla) from the school cafeteria. That $1 a day all week allowed me saving money to spend on the more important intake necessity.....COMIC BOOKS! Mom would provide me with a $10 bill for lunch all week (most full meals would run around $2) and lest she know my spending habit, that $5 was well spent during my 4 years of high school in building my collection!

Grosses me out every time I see her do it. I did this in high school 35 years ago. The fries had to be hot and crisp. It was the hot/cold, salty/sweet contrast that I enjoyed.

Fries in a shake is disgusting. now, Fries dipped in mayonnaise?? The only time that I've ever liked Mayo is on a Whopper and a McChicken Sandwich and that's probably about it

I refuse to live in a world that doesn't have Mayonnaise.

I don't mind mayonnaise, but it isn't a go-to for me as a condiment. On a turkey and swiss sandwich, sure, and it is OK on a Whopper, but other than that, I'm not actively looking to put it on things. My parents each put a dollop of it on their jello salad, which I find repulsive.
That said, I do like it as a base for other things. I mix it with sour cream and some chipotle chili powder as a spread for the quinoa black-bean burgers that I make, and I do the same but substitute dill for the chipotle as a spread for turkey burgers.

Usually after thanksgiving, I'll make what I call a "Medley Bowl". It's basically a ham sandwich with mustard and mayo without the bread My parents each put a dollop of it on their jello salad, which I find repulsive. What even is the purpose of Jello Salad as a dish? It just sounds all kinds of revolting

Welp, except for a couple of final touches and finishing organizing and bringing up a few comic boxes from the basement, all the work in the comic room that needed to be done and could be done (without major expenditures) is done. I still need to go out and buy window treatments/coverings, a new turntable and CD player, and TV/DVD player, which will all wait until I am back to work, but pretty much everything else is done. I need to find one of the custom lightswitch covers I got (it got lost in the chaos and hasn't turned up yet) and put it up, and finish organizing my runs of Savage Sword and Heavy Metal to put them away in the unit I upscaled to store them in and that's it. I wound up displaying so much art and stuff it is almost sensory overload, but I love it. I'll get to some pics by the weekend.

I grew up eating Miracle Whip but my (Methodist) family referred to it as mayonnaise.
Early in our relationship, my wife informed me that Jews (like her) only ate real mayonnaise; Miracle Whip was for goyim.

Adjacent to the discussion of mayo, I love using ranch dressing as a dip - for chips, carrot or celery sticks, French fries, pizza, you name it.

I like mayonnaise. Miracle Whip however, is an abomination. -M My father feels the same way. He once refused to eat something my wife had made because she used Miracle Whip instead of mayo. She was very upset because she thought she'd done something wrong, but it was really my fault because I didn't give her a heads-up about it.

My thoughts on mayo are much like DE Sinclair's thoughts on bananas. (Not that I much like bananas either.)
