Does anyone else have books/runs that they are not actively collecting NOW but want to do so in the future? And I am not talking next month or so, but maybe even years in the future?
I started thinking about it because my girlfriend and I currently live in an apartment but is planning on buying a house in the next year or two. Hopefully that means we will have more space to store things which has been a major problem in our current apartment and one of the reasons I have avoided buying to many new physical books. I have quite a few seres that I want to have in single issue format but I dont really want to much cluster right now. Especially since I will likely have to move it in the not so distance future.

Mail delivery times within Canada seem back to normal, within my home province maybe even faster than usual as they have hired extra people because the volumes have been up, also I've gotten a couple things from a sub-contractor delivery company I'd never even heard of before which might be new. From mainland Europe I've found it to be pretty fast too... Germany and France in particular are around two weeks so maybe they have also been hiring? England is a little slower though where it used to be pretty fast. From the U.S. has gone from slow to record wait times slower though. I was getting used to about 30 days or so for something to reach me, but the last few have been about six weeks. I heard they have actually been cutting the USPS while volumes have increased? Perhaps on top of people getting sick? I'm going back to really hesitating to order from the U.S. and allowing as much as two months for the last couple of things, one book was Amazon U.S. so we'll see if that is any different. I don't know what happens to people who get their meds delivered by mail, glad I'm in a position where my pharmacy is a mere couple of blocks away and I'm automatically covered for substitutions/upgrades regardless of price. I work for the USPS and as far as my experience goes, I find that the delivery times on first class parcels and meds are quick. There is never a delay on those types of things in my office. You don't understand the pressure there is to scan every package. It's checked by our supervisors throughout the day and when we come back from the street , they question us about the ones that might not have been scanned. Sometime a carrier misses one or the scanner just is slow in downloading the piece. There are sometimes problems with books mailed by media mail rate. That can take up to 4 weeks to arrive and they are not forwardable without someone paying additional postage. I really rather just pay the extra few dollars to get it first class when I'm buying from ebay.

I normally see my family doctor and do blood tests in the fall, but as we've had a spell of 0 or at most 1 new cases of covid a day for awhile I wonder if I should go in a bit early in case things might get worse/busy again. Having alone time seems more a healthy and normal human thing; balanced, individuals. Wanting to be together all the time seems fine only for kids supposedly madly in love... I have no choice though with the border closed... it's like a military marriage where he is deployed overseas or something lately! I had a checkup about 4 weeks ago and the wait was normal. Just a matter that everyone has to wear a mask. Everythigchecked out fine and my doctor called me to tell me I was healthy. It seems that the doctors are paying special attention to fatty livers. It seems because of the lockdown, people have eaten too much and drank too much. I'll admit I had to diet down for the exam.

Icc, are you seeing any slowdowns or issues with some of the recent changes you hear about in the news?

Checked my balance this morning on the Hancock Whitney App and I had four purchases totaling $80 for something called "Fast Newsletter". I'm usually pretty damn frugal with money, so I know it wasn't me. Not entirely sure what to do, this hasn't happened before
If it happens again, I'm definitely calling my bank

If you are seeing charges you do not recognize, please call your bank's fraud department immediately! Unfortunately, I have dealt with stuff like this in the past, and reporting and disputing early is key. You need to freeze out any future charges and secure your account. Do you use a debit card? If so, you will likely need to get a new one issued. Please please please call right away. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. It's a royal pain in the @$$ but you've gotta jump on it to maximize the chances of getting your money back.

Why wait until it happens again? Someone unknown has access to your money. Call the bank now!

It may be different depending on where you are, but now that you know there is an issue, you may not be reimbursed for additional fraudulent charges if you don't take steps to stop it. Please call right away. Good luck!

I'll call once I get to work. My biggest problem is getting my card cancelled by the bank and having to wait for a new one. I use the card to uber and sometimes lyft to get to my job and really don't have any other way to get there.

I use the card to uber and sometimes lyft to get to my job and really don't have any other way to get there. Ugh, yeah that sucks. Maybe you can mention that to them. Maybe there is a way to issue a temp # or to rush it? I'd also strongly recommend getting a credit card even with a small limit for your day to day purchases so your actual money is not a risk, or at the very least so you have a backup form of payment. So sorry you are dealing with this. I've been there a couple times. It's a ROYAL pain in the butt having to switch the card on file with all your bills and stuff...

Scanning by Canada Post has definitely changed... very haphazard and often not done at all. Maybe they made a decision to deliver over doing that. Not sure what they do with stuff people want a signature on. All that stuff used to be a rare business only option in different times anyway.
I found stuff sent from California is what is super slow in getting to me, Texas just slow. Stuff from the North-Eastern States is the best and almost normal wait time, so there is a lot of variation within USPS!
Years ago someone in Italy charged two flights to and from Milan to my card once... domestic flights but still into four figures. I thought maybe there was a crooked record dealer there who somehow got my card detauls, I was never sure.

impulse, if you mean the fighting between our politicians , It hasn't really effected the day to day operation. We are still working and taking the time we need to do the job. My boss has informed us that changes are coming to save time in the office and get us out to the street quicker. And voting by mail will never be viable without problems, until the way the mail is distributed to the mailing offices is without error. As it is, I get about 50 letters that don't belong to my route a day. Not good.

About 2 years ago, I discovered that 2 charges were made on my ebay account for about 1000 dollars. I immediately contacted my credit card companies and changed all my passwords. Do not wait.

BatflunkieJust a word form my wife the banker-contact your bank immediately and report the fraudulent charges. At the bare minimum it will protect you from being financially responsible for those charges. If you do not report it, you could be out the money for those and future charges. Do not wait. Some banks have the ability to issue debit cards in branch the day you open an account or need a new card, so inquire about that as well if you need the new card immediately. -M

Absolutely agree. A few years back, we found almost $1K of vintage Mustang car parts charged to our CC from some website for a shop in California at 3:00 AM EDT the day before. Immediately contacted our CC company, who shut down our cards, sent replacements overnight mail, and eliminated the charges.
