And I’m covid positive. And I feel like a used dish rag. Wear your masks guys. This shit ain’t fun. So sorry, man. This is serious stuff and sometimes even taking every precaution isn't enough. Which is why it infuriates me to see people wandering in stores, etc, without the bare courtesy, or sense, to put on a mask. It's not a guarantee, but it's the best we have.

And I’m covid positive. And I feel like a used dish rag. Wear your masks guys. This shit ain’t fun. Sorry to hear Slam. Take it slow and easy while you recover. Messed up that others not doing all they can to help prevent the exposure to others. Had long discussion with my aunt why I will NOT be at family Thanksgiving dinner. They don't get it and think just wearing a mask should be enough protection. Covid on upward spike, kids in schools exposed/carrying, have 10 people together as I am only in my 1st month of a new job and cant risk myself, my job, my co-workers. Not taking Covid seriously is plain dumb and truly why it continues to remain a massive killer. TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS WORLD! My wife and I are persona non-grata right now because we are not attending Thanksgiving at her folks or their big family Christmas gathering the week after. We both work and are exposed to a lot of people, and her dad has COPD and her mom other health issues, and we don't want to put them at risk, but we're the bad guys because we are playing it safe and staying home. -M

Yup. Others claiming you're wrong doesn't make it so. As someone said recently, people who go to big gatherings for Thanksgiving will find themselves going to funerals for Christmas.

Waiting around for the last couple of hours for the phone call that my Dad has come out of surgery and is in recovery. My Mom said it's almost easier when it's yourself going through these things. Ha, just posted and the phone rang. He's doing well enough there to be eating lunch so that's good news he'll be in for 48 hours and if all goes smoothly back home.

In slightly better news, number two son got accepted at Georgetown Law. So that’s a good thing. Also thanks for all the thoughts. Was hoping to have a test result today but it’s not looking good.
Damn Slam !
I hate to hear this but know you'll come out ok.
My godmother and two of her sons have it, as do my cousin's two children.
Sending you positive vibes old friend.

Oh, damn, sorry to hear, Slam. I hope your case is mild and your recovery is fast.
It's hard to believe there are still people not wearing masks and going into crowds at this point.

Did you hear that nurse interviewed on CNN, telling the heart-breaking story of a patient who was obviously dying of COVID but still refused to admit that it existed? The patient insisted it must be something else, like influenza or even lung cancer. Dear Lord.

PSA: I just got back from donating blood. Hospital admissions are up, donations are down, and the need is high. Please give if you're able.

Did you hear that nurse interviewed on CNN, telling the heart-breaking story of a patient who was obviously dying of COVID but still refused to admit that it existed? The patient insisted it must be something else, like influenza or even lung cancer. Dear Lord. Yes, I have seen a few similar stories. It's...I mean, I don't even know what to say. It's mind-boggling. I can almost understand thinking it's being exaggerated to some degree. I don't agree, but I can see how someone might arrive at that conclusion, but to deny its existence, literally, as they are dying from it? It's just so devastatingly sad. How did we get to a point where so many people just refuse to believe objective reality? I suppose that idiom that goes something like "you wouldn't know a so-and-so if it bit you on the nose" is not for nothing. I don't even know what to say. A former coworker of mine who had COVID finally came off his ventilator and sedation... after TEN WEEKS. I can't even begin to imagine the hospital bills, let alone the physical toll being laid up that long will take. He was no spring chicken, either. He isn't elderly, but he wasn't exactly young when I worked with him almost 20 years ago. I am glad he's recovering, but his life is never going to be the same most likely. This is just crazy.
