I know a perfectly rational explanation for this will eventually surface, but I find myself fascinated by the story of the strange metal monolith recently discovered in Utah. It was spotted from a helicopter while the Department of Safety was conducting a routine survey of big horn sheep in the area. Apparently the monolith disappeared/was removed as mysteriously as it appeared and as of the 27th was no longer onsite where it had been found. The state agency in charge of the area reported it was gone and denied removing it. -M

I always liked the Mr. Peabody & Sherman bits best! I was more of a Fractured Fairy Fales and Dudley Do Right type of person myself

So my internet works! Tried using my mom's laptop and I got a solid connection. Just makes me wonder about my own laptop. I've had troubles in the past with my old one where when it was too close to the router, it wouldn't pick up a signal and I'm wondering if that isn't the case here because god knows I've tried everything else. Hate to think that I have to get rid of a $749 laptop just because it won't connect to the internet :/

Waiting for the joke/hoax to be revealed, but it's fun watching. -M

My MacBook Pro is about 8 years old and it's beginning to slow down. I am doing all the tricks to restore the speed like deleting cookies and History. I finally broke down and purchased a program to clean the computer. It's called Clean my Mac X. I'm hoping that it will extend the life span.

I was in the same boat at work and changed the MacBook's hard drive for SSD memory... Boy! The tired old cat turned into a cheetah! My home computer is a twelve year old iMac. I wouldn't trade it for anything, since it runs my old version of Photoshop (and I refuse to switch to the subscription-based system). Those old computers are like a favourite pair of sneakers... Nothing compares to them, but we always dread the day they'll simply fade away!

I'd add that if you're up to the task, combine the swap to an SSD with a clean install of the OS. You'll be flying.

Never owned a Mac. I've been pounding on Dell PCs for the past 20 years. Think I'll get a new one next year.

I use a MacBook for all my music composition/recording stuff. I've had mine for 8 years and it's still fine.
I also have an HP laptop for general internet surfing, e-mail, social media, picture editing, playing and editing music etc. I've had that laptop 6 years and it's really time I bought a new one. It's really slowed down, is running Windows 7 (for which Microsoft have stopped support) and the casing around the screen is all broken. It still works fine though, other than the speed issues. Still, I plan to get a new PC laptop in April or May next year.

Windows or Mac, you'd be surprised at the boost you can give an old machine by doing a clean installation of the OS and installing an SSD, especially now when you can get a 1TB SSD for under $100.

40 years ago to day John Lennon was killed. My BF was wondering if anyone would remember. Here's what I just wrote about it: There was a documentary on Lennon last night but I'm pretty sure I had seen it before and it was mostly all about the shooting so I passed on watching any of it. Don't like to see that photo of him autographing the new album for the murderer, that should've showed him Lennon wasn't a total creep or a catcher in the rye or whatever the F it was. I think he should stay locked up and never heard from again.
We had the album then and I saw Lennon-Ono on some kind of tv show appearance a little before the murder. Watching The Wheels, Starting Over, Woman... those always send me to the time just before... very upbeat, optimistic and balanced music. If only Beatles fans had time machines and could be waiting outside the building... then the news story would've been 'kook from out of town found dead by bullet from own gun and LP shoved in ______'!
