Well, big news in the COVID world in the USA. The CDC just announced they are easing guidelines on fully vaccinated folks. Basically, if you are fully vaccinated they are no longer recommending masks outdoors OR indoors except for crowded things like airplanes, buses, etc, or medical facilities. That is a huge shift.
They also say they hope showing the benefits of the vaccine will encourage people to get them. I think that is rather naïve, personally, as it just makes it easier for people who don't want it to blend in if no one is wearing them, but even so, this is a big shift.

Congratulations, southern neighbours! Here's to a prompt return to some semblance of normalcy! Although... this is the CCF... what's normal?

All across the world reports of COVID still hitting hard and mutating. So the USA says hey, let's show off how STUPID we can be and encourage everyone to put themselves at risk. How utterly naive and reckless. Hey guys, nothing to worry about here. Resume your regular activities and duties like usual. Think I shall continue upon the side of safety yet awhile longer and still wear a mask even though I have been vaccinated.

Yeah, it is going to take me a while to feel comfortable without one, and while these particular vaccines are VERY effective, my kids are still too young to get them, so we are still being cautious.

So I had to go get a COVID test today as I am scheduled to go in for an overnight sleep study next week to see if my C-Pap settings need recalibrating after 10+ years (and to get a new C-Pap machine hopefully) and they require a negative COVID test within 7 days prior to going in even if you're fully vaccinated. It took more time getting registered at the hospital (10 minutes) than it did to get the actual test (about 45 seconds). Got my results a few hours later via mychart and they were negative (which was to be expected as I am fully vaccinated and have only left the house for doctor's appointments since I got out of the hospital a few weeks back and I've been masked every time out), but it's always nice to get the confirmation.

Told my sister about my appointment.
Suffice to say, she's one of those nimrods.

Wondered why I keep seeing a duck waddling around by my apartment building (sometimes with a drake accompanying her). My place is next to a park, with a big hill that slopes down to a creek, so I figured they came up from there, hunting food. For the past week or so, she has waddled away from the area outside my apartment's AC unit. Went out today, to go to work and she started waddling away from a shrub near the stoop. I looked down and there was a nest, with eggs in it. Probably a good thing my cat doesn't get outside!

If you climb your avocado tree in tight, short pants, a policeman will stop and ask you if everything is alright.
I told him yes and gave him a nice big avocado. I wasn't wearing a mask but didn't need one if I'm 30 ft up a tree in my own backyard.

Posted the first batch of 10 comic lots/books (almost all doubles) on the FB group this morning and sold 4 books for about $30 in the first 5 minutes of posting it. Nothing since, but it is what it is. Highlight was selling a Destroyer Duck #1 that I got in a quarter bin for $12 (other books sold were Critters 14, Doomsday Squad #3 and a low/midgrade copy of Uncanny X-Men 133, the first two were dollar bin finds but doubles, the last was a remnant of my wife's X-Men collection we sold off 4 years ago but I was holding that book for someone who decided not to buy it at the time). The lots will be up for a week, and then I'll post 10 more next week. I'm not making a fortune, but I am culling stuff I don't want and putting money in the war chest. My asking price for the vintage rpg stuff I was selling directly to someone I knew wanted it was also accepted, and that is a nice chunk of change for me.
I just need to decide how I want to sell some of the vintage toys (including my Shogun Warrior with box and some loose Adventure People stuff) as I would prefer to sell those locally and not have to package and ship those (but I will if I have to).

I wish I had an avocado tree. It would save us a lot at the grocery store. I used to know someone who did have one. Visiting them was awesome.

Let me know.
