Okay... So I had to walk off my job today. About 6 weeks ago two women in my job got into a violent verbal altercation where they had to be physically pulled apart. Last week they again got into a argument and had to be pulled apart from physically attacking each other. They were suspended this time. I was absent for the second fight but when I heard about it, I talked to the manager of the station and told him I didn't feel safe with them both in the office. This is 2021, workplace shootings are almost common place. He assured me that they were going to be separated and one of them would be transferred to another station. Today- I started work at 8am and saw one of the women at her route, which happens to be about 7 feet away from mine. I didn't think anything of it and continued to work. Around 9am I saw THE OTHER WOMAN working about 30 feet from where my route was. I asked to talk to the floor supervisor and told her I was leaving. I alerted my shop steward and the manager ( who promised me they would be in different stations) and told them I was leaving. Sure, the Post office cares about our safety... You have to do what you have to do. In this world, you never know which staunch defender of the second Amendment is carrying a gun or is going to come back with a few of them. This has nothing to do with the second amendment and more to do with immature adults in a culture where violence is celebrated.

Well, with the propensity of people to have multiple firearms at their disposal, and a propensity to become violent for no reason, as you're seeing at your PO and we see every day in the news, you can't be too careful.

They might try to dock me the pay, but I'm okay with my decision.

Right, it's not the 2A's fault, but it's a lot harder for someone to snap and start blasting if they don't have a gun, and a result of the 2A is a lot of people have access to 'em. I would have got out of there, too. Glad you are safe.
Any docked pay is sure to be less than the costs of any hospital bills from a stray shot.
We had a gun threat a few years back at work. A disgruntled employee was let go and apparently threatened to come back with gun. Thankfully I can do my work remotely, so I got out of there. That was terrifying.

Going to the amusement park today! It's our school picnic day, so my wife and I are taking our girls and their friends down for the event. Haven't been since 2019 (obviously), so we're all looking forward to getting out and celebrating the end of school. @bert , not sure if you've mentioned it, but have you ever been to Kennywood here in Pittsburgh?
yes, I have
about 5 years ago - before they removed the log flume for Steel Curtain, so haven't been back to ride that.
although, honestly, I'm very upset they removed Kangaroo, Paratrooper, and Bayurn Kurve from the park last year - all classic (and two irreplaceable), and they've also removed Volcano (Huss Enterprise), and sounds like Black Widow hasn't been run in multiple years at this point. So to me the park sounds like it's lost much of it's "Old Kennywood" charm.
tho I DO love Jackrabbit, Racer, and Thunderbolt. Phantom was ok, and Noah's ark was quite enjoyable. I liked the ride that was Garfield's Nightmare (now redone into the Old Mill again).
all that said, my friends who run TPR (Theme Park Review) are at the park today doing filming on the coasters. . So you might see Robb & Elissa out today.

I have no desire to perpetuate a 2A pro/con discussion, but the method is irrelevant. The end result is what matters. Just take care of yourself and do what is right for Icctrombone.

But it's a helluva lot easier to be "relevant" with an AR-15 than with a switchblade.

Right, I don't think the point is the 2A. That's just background info.
The point is there are lots of guns in the USA, and you don't know who has them, so when in doubt, get your ass out!
Frankly, I am shocked two employees got to the point of a physical altercation without one or both being fired long before it even got to the point this became a question.

There's plenty of illegal guns in NY. I have a problem with morons with no moral center thinking that it's okay to just shoot because they are offended.

Obviously if all gun owners were decent, sane, moral law-abiding citizens, the issue would be moot. Alas, they are not. Also, guns are so ubiquitous in some places it's a lot easier for unsavory types to get access to them. One could not shoot anyone if they cannot get a gun.
Agreed with others, not debating the 2A. It is the law of the land not going anywhere, and I am not saying way or the other on whether I think it should or not.
It is certainly still possible for unstable or unsavory types to cause harm with other weapons, but hard to do as much damage as quickly with other apparatus. If someone pulls a knife you can just run away. Unless someone comes up with a knife that can hurl 60 blades in a minute. I might have seen that in a movie.
Now I want to see that movie. Robert Rodriguez should direct it, and Danny Trejo should be in it.

Emphasis mine. Just saying.
